Eu la Costinești după plaja de nudiști am văzut odată un foișor și niște soldați care se uitau tot timpul cu binoclul la mare (ce puteau să vadă) și mai zbura pe sus din când în când un elicopter (ca să vadă nudiștii bineînțeles).

Clădirea cu acoperiș parțial, roșu (dreapta aici) e ARSVOM de pe hartă mai sus? De ce ARSVOM are sediul pe o dană? 9:09 AM Yeah. I don't know how to put this but please let me try. I realized most people don't know what is a "burn" in space travel terms and this seems unacceptable to me so i make it a high priority right now to explain it.

Doing some searches was trying to figure the time of the burn of the initial launch. Actually, there are several. During the initial lift off we have two solid fuel boosters that burn i don't know, a minute of two.

Those deserve a few considerations as well. Solid rocket boosters are nothing but metal cylinders filled with (slower burning) explosive attached to the tanks with liquid fuel. Lit at one end, they will burn towards the other until they are spent. One must understand there is no control over those after lighting them up. All we have to do is hold our breath and wait until they are done and jettisoned.

It is very important that they finish both in the same time. Otherwise, the ship will take a turn in one direction or the other. Or simply expel them with explosive charges seconds before they are done.

During all this time the main liquid fuel engine(s) at the bottom of the ship move(s) around two axis many times a second (thrust vectoring), doing corrections, trying to keep up with irregularities and turbulences coming from solid fuel boosters.

The solid fuel boosters are a cheap way to bring more lift to the launch, lowering the size of tanks for liquid fuel which is most of the mass of the ship at launch anyway. I don't know what the ratio is but i i think is in the order of 1-5% of mass of fuel needed for useful payload lifted in orbit (which again most mass is fuel for subsequent burns) when the ship becomes briefly a satellite.

So yes, we have solid fuel booster burn, continued main engine(s) burn, and then silence. Once the ship is in the desired Earth orbit the fuel is mostly spent, there are no more burns except for corrections and compensating for very thin but existing atmosphere that slows down (and thus lowers orbit for any satellite, reducing its life time.

I could not find that as all the keywords used lead me only to the emotional news about the firs trip to the Moon in 50 years that flood searches no matter how much i try but i would think is in the order of minutes.

The main idea was that during the whole flight to the Moon and back that takes what, days, the only powered phases of the flight are in the order of minutes and those powered phases are called burns.

Here is a diagram showing Artemis main component including the 2 solid fuel boosters and the 4 liquid fuel engines at the bottom. All engines are designed and work for minutes during the whole mission (also because the burn fuel at a very high rate). 

In the case of Artemis II most of the power phases of flight occurred within the first minutes and first day of flight, rest of it been done by inertia alone, conserving the initial kinetic energy acquired from chemical energy of fuel during burns.

The equations needed to describe the flight path are extremely complicated, and the precision of the burns and feedback such as position and speed, before, during and after those burns have to be extreme so it can ensure the precise and safe return to Earth using inertia and gravity of Moon and Earth in a very smart way.

The final burn or the so called "lunar injection" is particularly critical (but not more critical than lift off, using solid fuel rockets, other burns), cause that burn uses the last of the fuel and there is no possibility of return except through gravity of Moon during flyby and there is a narrow window of angle, position and speed in which that can be done.

Besides equations, an input is being necessary as current position and speed. There are a number of ways to calculate those, starting from comparing observed stars positions to charts, inertial data (accumulation of accelerations/decelerations/direction changes since last calibration or reset), (ground based) radar, lasers and other EM means. Lately they begin to think about extending the GPS coverage to at least areas near Earth.

Any measurements done on Earth cannot be used in real time for that input to calculate the engine's parameters since there is a lag in EM transmission of tenths of a second due to speed of light and distances.

I know from videos i have seen that rocket engines are being steered during lift off, because i saw their movements, probably using inertial feedback, to keep pushing the rocket upward and especially to avoid tipping it over, especially during very first phase where no aerodynamic forces are there to help stabilize direction of the vehicle.

There are also no aerodynamic forces at work in space like after leaving the atmosphere or during the final burn and i assume the engine is being steered using inertial input as well, but don't know if they use other data to refine the direction during the 6 minute final burn.

Unele ca cele cumpărate de Bulgaria (bloc F70) costă mai mult decât un F35 de bază. Noi am plătit ultima dată 1 euro pe 18 avioane din alea de generația 3-a cu ce fel de radar? Doar așa ca să spunem că le avem? și acum cheltuim 600 de milioane, ca să le modernizăm pentru mentenanță, care putea fi făcută în România.

Deci câte avem și de câte feluri? Sunt bune de ceva în afară de a plăti mentenanță?

Like usually having trouble to figure when it happened. Because most news don't mention it.

9:45 Still can't figure when it happened. NPR and google says... at least 17 hours ago? 5PM ET means 8 PM PDT, right? That is not 17 hours ago. The reason i'm asking is i wanted to know if i went to the casinos not knowing and then i got so sick with partly cooked food at Spirit Mountain. I left after 5 PM or by the time the planes reached targets and could not see the news.

Ok. So the fleet entered Iran air space at 5 ET and took them several hours to reach the sites, right? A fleet of 125 planes flying in formation above your head for several hours would at least make some noise, right? If i was Iran i would have at least launched some missiles, blindly in the direction of the noise. (no other options). But at night they would cross stars, making them blink?

I never really believed much in stealth planes anyways. The exhaust coming out of them is very hot and there are not may ways to cool it. How much cold air can you inject in the exhaust that has enough volume (and speed) to push the plane forward.

The whole jet engine is a powerful (hot) air pump for God's sake, how can you compete with that while most part of the air entering the engine housing bypasses the combustion chamber anyways and the exhaust is still hot! Directing the exhaust upwards would create negative lift ("or at least hide it from observers").

All the useable energy of that fuel burning to push the plane forward is turned into heat by friction of airframe with the air. You have to loose that heat or otherwise the plane would melt in a minute or so. Loosing heat means radiating IR.

If there was any paint to block that heat, the plane would again melt very quickly, that heat needs to be evacuated.

Several degrees temperature difference is visible on IR cameras. 

Concorde was generating so much heat at Mach 2 the whole plane would elongate due to heat expansion by about one foot though ambient temperature at that altitude was in the order of minus tenth of degrees. While the airframe was heating, the deck inside was not and a gap would appear on the flight deck. "Flight engineers sometimes would place their hats in this gap during the final supersonic flights, knowing it would be permanently stuck when the aircraft cooled down and the gap closed".

No B2 is not supersonic. But it still heats more than a few degrees due to friction with air.

12:15 AM One can imagine the amount of exhaust left by 125 planes flying for several hours in formation. 5 gallons per mile? I didn't know that. It is impressive. But if you multiply that by 125, you get a lot. About 2 and a half metric tons per mile. All turned to (hot) water vapor (possible trails) and carbon dioxide (and other trace chemicals).

I remembered that day 20 some years ago when we went at Crater Lake and in the evening we came back at the Motel 6 motel in Klamath Falls. I was driving alongside the lake for miles and miles and when the sun set an enormous cloud of mosquitos fell upon us. They wee so many, the completely covered the car's radiator, the front bumper turned from burgundy red to green.

I stopped not knowing what to do. Was afraid i would overheat the engine, with radiator covered like that (did not see it but imagined it, did not dare get out of the car). All around us it was like a fog made of mosquitos. But when i stopped i saw in the rear mirror, in the red light of my brake lights a much greater density of mosquitos in the back of the car, dancing like crazy around the exhaust. Cause they were seeking the carbon dioxide coming out of the exhaust.

So what we've got. Noise, IR signature, carbon dioxide, contrails, 125 plane fleet. Do you think scientists in countries like Russia and Iran that can build whatever (drones and hypersonic missiles) do not think of these things?

Every car that has a catalytic converter also has at least one oxygen sensor cause it is easier and probably cheaper to measure the (lack of ) oxygen in the exhaust than directly the amount of carbon dioxide to figure how much fuel you burn that results in carbon dioxide (and moisture). So they could simply use one of that to guide a missile. (ppm here means parts per million).

As i said we live in a world of illusion and magic and massive amounts of lies in unverifiable news.

I think they simulated i was there to sabotage the bombers and they punished me for that.

Here are three images showing the damage assessment pictures from media, and then the parameters of the tunnels to the "underground facility" done with google earth.

With an entry point at 914 meters and hit point at 957 meters over a distance of 340 meters, assuming the site was 80 meters underground and assuming it is a straight line with a constant slope, the slope of that tunnel would be about 11%, which makes it difficult for heavy equipment with diesel engines to move into that 340 meter long tunnel.

Especially uphill unless they had oxygen supply for the driver and the engine or if they used electric vehicles but i don't see any charging stations or parking spaces or electric power transformers or anything. Just some holes in the ground and a building in the shape of an USB stick that BTW was left intact.

Also i would think inside the facility there are/were a number of people working but i don't see any parking spaces, just a road that leads directly into a building.

Unless if each entrance services the farthest point. At which point a question comes to mind. The underground site is not a point, i would think has at least the size of the building on the left.

They why choose the highest point of the "mountain" to hit it. Also if you hit one of the galleries in a point where the thickness above is 60 meters or the exact range of the weapon, the shockwave of the enormous amount of explosive would have transmitted through the tunnel and obliterate for sure anything in it and the entrances.

Din video-ul respectiv mie mi s-a părut că rușii au tras cu mai multe rachete, din care una a fost mai mare. Poate a fost ascunsă printre altele mai mici care nu păreau a fi amenințări prea mari pentru a cheltui o rachetă Patriot de 2 milioane de dolari bucata.

Aegis e amplasat în mod ciudat mai spre vest, la Deveselu. La sute de km de unde ar fi trebuit să fie, ținând cont că singura amenințare împotriva NATO este Rusia. Nu cred că ar face față unui atac serios din partea Rusiei sau oricui, mai ales cu noile rachete "experimentale".

Eu personal aș merge de exemplu în cazul Bucureștiului sau alte obiective pe o soluție cu multe drone.

How light creates space-time? Because of its jumping particles that move at relativistic speeds and recreate selves perpendicularly at light speed. How normal matter (mass) exists in space-time? Because strings are virtual particles that also move on closed trajectories at relativistic speeds, all mass being actually relativistic.

Tonight i wanted to understand how the light (and its own space time) bends during total reflection but only understood the total mess physics has become nowadays after one century of confusion, read this thread. All kinda well educated opinions, nothing sure.

I think i read somewhere about strings moving in their own space time... Other than the cartesian 3D space time created by light all around us ?

We got one direction given by a negative mass virtual particle popping at 90 degrees from its cause (a relativistic moving electron), another one from the process repeating this time creating a normal one, two more from the first two repeating in opposite directions and one from jumping ahead each time. So third direction is time.

(But the third direction is interchangeable with fist two. When we move around an object all axes seem to be equally defining space. Or it's just an illusion because light in everyday life is a mixture of photons comming from all directions).

Light that gets bounced by one face of the pyramids interact with light bouncing on the opposite face creating the void in the middle, while all the matter in between is not participating. There is only one explanation for this. All matter that forms the faces and the whole pyramid exists in a different space time with only 3 dimensions exposed to light, and the third, time appears to be frozen and turned into a space one as well.

Polarized light gets bent when getting close to a material surface at a low angle (total reflection) only one side of the photon which is an electrically charged virtual particle moving always in the same direction, in this case parallel to the surface is getting very close to the surface and gets repelled by electrical forces because the surface is already charged positively by photoelectric effect prior to grazing.

By changing the direction of a photon, its own space time is being bent. When we have a multitude of photons coming from a distant source, their are all in the same space time. Then we separate the stream in two and bend each in an opposite direction we may create a void in that space time.

Yes this total reflection phenomenon is used widely in our times in fiber optics. I mean, you can bend those and light inside will still travel. But now that i think i realize the light can actually be bent and travel inside like a stream of photons instead of electrons inside a conductor.

Which means... Could we have space-time disturbances around bent areas, like i have a whole bunch in the bedroom closet? Could those count for the weird feelings of synchronicity with whoever lives upstairs, including the cats?

Piloții de pe F16 nu au nevoie de "contact vizual" cu ținta.

Mai mult decât atât, piloții de pe F16 începând de la block 50 (diferența între 50 și 52 la care au fost îmbunătățite (upgraded) cele cumpărate din Portugalia este doar motorul) au la dispoziție o nouă însușire a avionului (feature). Tactical data link.

Asta le permite să primească date (în video-ul următor, display-ul din dreapta, cel din stânga este propriul radar) de la radare de la sol sau de la alte avioane.

Dacă drona era văzută de un radar de la sol care are această însușire, ținta apărea și pe ecranul avionului, tot ce avea de făcut pilotul era să apese un buton să "lock the target" și să trimită o rachetă.

E adevărat, rachetele sunt foarte scumpe, una AMRAAM din cele contractate recent de România din SUA poate depăși un milion de dolari bucata, în funcție de versiune. O rachetă sidewinder, parte din același contract, care poate merge până la 22 mile (aprox. 35 km) e puțin mai ieftină.

Motivul pentru care sunt atât de scumpe este că în afară de sistemul de ghidare inerțial, au datalink, deci pot fi ghidate de radarul din avion, de un radar de la sol sau de propriul radar.

Da, cred că aceste caracteristici transformă avionul într-un lansator de rachete zburător, repet, fără nevoie de contact vizual.

Unul din motivele pentru care avioanele mai noi, ca de exemplu F35 nu mai sunt atât de rapide. 1.6 Mach față de 2.25 pentru F16.

Însă și avionul țintă are mai multe opțiuni în momentul când detectează că o rachetă a fost locked pe el.

Prima ar fi bruiajul. La 330 km distanță de exemplu, sau la max cât poate opera un AMRAAM, are timp chiar și să aterizeze și să se ascundă într-un hangar de beton. Bine, cu o rachetă după el. Ok, închizi ușa la hangar.

Mai scriau domniile lor, spre panica dvs., că un pilot de F16 nu poate vedea o dronă, și din cauză de diferență de viteză. Dar dacă drona stă pe loc? Asta ne-ar lăsa fără opțiuni în fața dronelor de mici dimensiuni?

Pe radar se vede mărimea și viteza dronei respective. Ce faci, trimiți 2 F16 și 2 F18 pentru o mică dronă care merge prea încet și nu poate fi văzută? Dar cu elicopterele ce faci?
