11:20 Ate, grabbed myself togther and went for a walk. Didn't go very far. At the end of the building, many pieces of garbage in the grass. Thinking of the smell of mold and shortness of breath in the last few days. Threw those in the garbage but next to the garages there were these piles of needles from the trees that first fell on the garages, then about two weeks ago or more one day the handywoman came and pulled them on the ground (and left them there).

Piles and piles, i counted maybe ten laundry baskets. I saw back then and thought i would end up throwing those but i said i should leave them for a week, maybe they will or maybe the Wednesday blowers. But they didn't than freezing and snow came and it was ok because they froze too but when they thawed and been rained upon they started to stink big time. Like in the case of leaves under the bushes that i picked in January, there was black mold at the bottom of those and wind was blowing from that direction, everything inside smelling like that kinda mold.

12:50 Food for weekend thought. Many think the religions are pretty much all the same. One god and many saints (or one god and many deities, in Hinduism, Buddhism), sins which usually mean breaking the rules of gods, repentance, life after etc..

Then let me show you the major differences between Christianity and Buddhism by example. First. View of world and relativity of truth.

In Christianity truth is one of the most important values. It comes from the ten Commandments of Old Testament, "Though should not bring false testimony", and New Testament, John 14:6. Truth is at the center of Western Philosophy and everyday thinking.

Buddhism teaches that we are not capable of distinguishing truth from illusion in the surrounding reality thus we can never operate in the space of logical truth. How they function though. Never questioned social hierarchy (employment in Japan is for life bye example).

But we for our own sake we have to realize that after a couple of thousands of years of buddhism or even before that, and buddhism was a consequence, their brain is wired differently and there is no mutual understanding of the way of thinking.

Windows

Last time when my Windows (7) crashed it was when it overfilled my 20 GB partition with SP1, about 1 year ago. It downloaded it and then increased my partition occupancy by 1 to 2 GB. Although i had all updates contained in SP1 already on my computer as i had my automatic updates turned on. Since i wasn't expecting anything like that, i knew i had about 1 GB free on my partition it definitely pissed me off and i started seriously thinking on migrating to Linux. Not that i love Linus Torvalds or any in the community so much. Seriously. I think they're OK and they're doing a good job trying to put up a competition to Microsoft, for free.

But now this morning something crossed my mind. I used to run Windows at idle in about 350 MB out of my 2 GB. Those are Windows processes only on a pretty typical if not outdated hardware.

So out of my 20 GB of Windows code on my hard drive, i'm using about 0.15%. Now we know those dlls have many copies in there as 7 and other Windows versions keeps all the dll versions for reversing updates, and all the downloads for some reason if not for reference in case of lawsuits, saving at each restore point, i don't know, i think overall there's 4-5 identical copies of each piece of code in there.

But my computer most of the time doesn't use not even 10% of those 50-100 processes in those 350MB of memory i just mentioned as they don't do anything most of the time. Most of the time there's 4 or 5 processes running, one probably manages memory, the video driver, network manager, windows manager and the one that actually does something. That one is probably the browser, but of course, the most overlooked and active and ubiquitous is the free and famous Flash from Adobe, formerly from Macromedia, that runs inside the browser, that uses about 90% of the processor time compared to all other processes and, of course, annoys us the most and most of us don't even know it exists. We can only feel its presence on the flashing commercials on the screens. Now flash washes some if its sins by powering youtube, and who of us would give that one up!

Some people write emails or input data. That doesn't even scratches the back of the enormous power of today's computers. Most of the load occurs when scrolling up and down or moving windows on the screen when the system has to redraw the window with everything on it so many times per second.

Why that loads it so much? That is another mis(t)ery. I once wrote a piece of code, a stereo spectrum analyser based on a fast Fourier transform, similar to the one in iTunes (the optional animated bars in top of it). Not using any of the graphic libraries, just API calls as i remember, for initialisations and drawing a line. It was calculating the fast Fourier transform in ten points for each channel in a loop about ten times a second redrawing anything at the same pace in a resizeable window, with colours to chose and scale. It was all 44K, but i think that's because you cannot write in Windows programs with API calls much shorter that that. It is still out there iguess on softpedia anyone to see. I will put a link. It is still buggy as i abandoned it but it works enough to show it's working. But the point is i once launched it ten times on the screen and it was working on each window and it wouldn't even "move" the processor. And that was a 400 MHz computer.

The irrational use and reuse of libraries at Windows got them to the point that there's probably more than 90% overhead on most of their software from the programming point of view, those discussed above are separate issues, but they should at least have taken care and brushed up the graphical part of it, especially since this is all it is, a graphical OS with other vague capabilities, and on top it's called Windows!

So a whole industry that builds hardware, memory, hard drives, motherboards, monitors, modems, routers, fiber optics, etc, i'm too mad to think of now, that works efficiently just to piss the crap out of everybody. I mean to run Flash.

And they didn't even took enough care to design those as to be IMPOSSIBLE to get viruses or malware or whatever it's called now. Or maybe they had their reasons. IBM designed the first PC and put if out there for every manufacturer. Once out there it never changed, only improved.

Now after all the technological wonders they really achieved as far as speed and performance, we have to migrate our personal data to cloud as it is not safe and portable on our own devices.

So let's summarize for Windows:
Efficiency of hard drive occupancy: 0.015%
Efficiency of RAM memory real use: 10%
Efficiency as using the processor (competing against flash): 1-10%
Overhead in irrational use/reuse of libraries? probably over 90%
Overhead of needles machine code instructions in most used code: probably 90%
Efficiency of running Flash: up to 90% on older hardware
Built in by design malware protection: little
Efficiency as saving us time as being maintenance free: it depends on everybody's perception.
Efficiency of being worry free?
Efficiency of keeping our data safe?
Efficiency in pissing everybody off?
Efficiency in spying?

Now isn't this the most impressive technological blunder of all human enterprises ever?

Now i remember this conversation with the manager of a small software division i worked for, and he convinced me about the necessity of using object oriented programming as being a technique of reusing code. Anyways i had to agree with him cause he was the boss.

That might be true for small and custom projects when you have readily available libraries, but now looking at Windows through a historical prospective, i think it would have been rational to write and rewrite everything from scratch, because we are not interested in that type of efficiency and economy and using can programming when talking about software that repeats that overhead continuously and as we speak on hundreds of millions of computers.

5:50 Every Breath, combaterea semantică. Perlin.

6:20 Had no idea she could also play the guitar. Don't Know Why, i always had the feeling that she never reaches her potential except for that song. She's singing/playing jazz like she's playing a never ending finished game. The sadness is from for blues though. Is that a real toilet plunger he uses to mute the trombone LOL?

7:21 Talking of playing games. This song is so nice is surreal. It doesn't sound like New York but like a quiet sunny warm afternoon in the West (except for the weird diminished chords on the piano). So much better than You're so Vain. In my mind right now it comes dangerously close to Bryan Ferry's More Than This.

7:55 Worth mentioning... Players only love you when the're playing or the sound of Flitwood Mach... I think i was leaving under the wrong impression... Blame it on my HS physics teacher. Apparently there are voices saying the speed of gas coming out of a pressurized container is not the speed of sound...

1:10 I believe with a little push we can go beyond glucose.

4:18 They were winds up to 30 mph in the weekend. They brought down from the east garages lots of leaves left from last fall, rotting and stinking like cabbage. I took four laundry baskets packed with those to the NE bin and one to the SE. Got more infections at the hands but used the prescribed antibiotic right away and they did not progress.

I didn't know where they were coming from so yesterday i took a look and saw more on the top of the flat top garages. Where the pine needles came from but at the other end. So i emailed the office, but they said they cannot do it before the end of the month. I used a stepper and took another picture and saw a big pile of them near the edge. This morning when Angela went to work i went and pulled the bulk of them near the edge down (without climbing on the roof). Then i realized those were from one or two of the baskets i picked myself and threw in the garbage and somebody must have put them back on the roof. Now they are back on the ground where i picked them from.

Today in the park i saw some signs warning of poison oak that may cause severe dermatitis in sensitive people. I googled and saw those are shrubs, not trees. However there are some shrubs in the area as well. Going back to look.

A bunch of kids ad the entrance next to post boxes are making the biggest noise i heard so far including using of vuvuzelas. But they are Asian, not Spanish. There is this guy with a red old Corvette that makes a terrible noise at times, and smoke when he passes. Have you read Kafka or Clavell (Shogun)?

4:40 There are more dried leaves under the balcony of the next building since last fall. They were more that i picked next to the other garages. Those might have come from the shrubs and are of course mixed. I remember there was one or two years when i filled half garbage bin at the time gathering the leaves from the whole yard and never got any skin problems but i guess i got myself "sensitized" by the wi-fi of the laptop.

5:05 Angela had some coupons for beef and Doritos at Safeway and when she came i saw her parking and opened the door only to see, in the same direction, behind the car, a Japanese woman made to look Latina staring at me with a baby in her arms.

BTW she paid for 6 pounds of decent quality beef the same as for 3 packs of Doritos, all with coupons.

Somebody again changed the programming of the sprinklers. They now start in the afternoon. Yesterday there was only one Japanese girls about 10 who as taking a shower under those. Today somebody (probably her or others or bigger ninja) changed the direction of the the nearby sprinkler 90 degrees left towards my balcony and AC. Went and tried to fix it, did too little, now they came back and occupied the area.

5:40 So far i identified one occurrence of poison IV.

Extremely dried leaves (almost dust) under balconies

Aucuba Japonica next to bedroom window. Don't know if the're visible but when Aucuba leaves die they turn into a black brittle thin foil that when touched turn into dust. I bet there are no studies as what those can do to your sensitized skin.

I still remember the episode when one day, being really high from something in the air i went and picked the half dead leaves from branches and from the ground and put them in a bag and when i was crossing the alley to throw them to the bin William Shatner came downhill with an idling diesel towing truck (was used to the sound, he was stationary for minutes), he just released the breaks, RPM dind't change and if i didn't look back he would have ran over me. He did it a couple of times just in case. I mean, i looked, he stopped, turned my back and walked in the same direction, he tried one more time.

I know it was him cause i saw he was towing my truck and ran after him and talked briefly. He wouldn't take a card, i had to drive 20 miles with Angela that day to recover my truck, for 300 bucks.

Common ivy.

Don't know what these are.

9:36 It was only after a few hours Angela told me. She was again mad for the weekend. First, they canceled her overtime tomorrow. Building maintenance reasons. She had a free night for Monday at Chinook and wanted to make some money, though dead tired. Never happened before. Then this "Russian" guy Sergey gave her a news which i don't think is necessarily bad, but in such a way she did got mad.

All weekends for the past years have been like that. It was Hao, Steven, Sergey, others, by rotation, who did or said something right at the end of the week, it always ruined Angela's weekend (and mine). Though i saw him briefly, a few seconds, one time only, i think Sergey is this guy.

Judging by his face, he is not necessarily a bad guy, none of them are, but the roles... and the script must be obeyed... But i started to ask myself, how is helping me by putting everything that crosses my mind here, cause people do react, sometimes unpredictable but don't remember the next day what i said today. Obviously because they have their own worries.

Oregon Board of Medical Licensing

The big secret is they asked me 25 bucks for each passport size picture and said they otherwise might be blurred as copied by copy machine. Needles to say i gave up. Why is this "classified"?

Don't know if you noticed, on the attached document he printed his name with a t not d. Please send me any printed document related to him that you can send me for free or for a fee. I reattached the "court order" here. This would not be the first case of mistaken or stolen ID or doctors practicing without license or under fake ID in the State of Oregon. I remember of dr.Patil. By the way, the dr. who treated my wife after her surgery in 2004 at Providence was also named Patil.

Please send me the same printed documents, copies of license or any document i am entitled to ask for free or for a free for the following doctors.

September 29

2:40 Can't find right now but i'm sure i wrote somewhere before about this. Should have put this before what i wrote yesterday about my trip to Romania cause it occurred first. It's all a mess. Both in my mind and in reality.

On an early morning in January 12 2004, just before i went to Romania i was smoking in the balcony in the dark, they were these landscape maintenance guys making a big noise and all of a sudden i started to feel an almost unbearable pain in both my hands. I called Angela who was at work and she took me to the ER at Providence St.Vincent..

There came the doctor. A guy who looked like Dan McCafferty. Under the pretext of doing a physical examination he stretched both my sexual organs to the point i think he broke some blood vessels or even performed a crude non surgical vasectomy.

For months after that i had to wear several undies because the area was getting very cold due to poor circulation. In the same night i was taken to Woodland Park Hospital which was empty. I slept one night in there. I was the only patient in the hospital period. They were only a couple of therapists there i knew since 2002/2003 stay. One of them took me on a different area of the hospital that was empty as well except for an X-ray technician where i was asked to raise hands above head while they took an X-ray of my torso.

Soon after it was lunch time and that they gave me to eat some pasta and after that i had the most terrible episode of diarrhea of my life. The whole hospital floor was smelling for one hour like hell after that. Then they discharged me saying they do not treat medical conditions, only psychiatric

Even after i went to Romania i was cold in that area as it lasted for several month but a vague pain that at times gets worse remain to this day (love hurts) and the infections i get nowadays may be related to that because circulation getting poorer with age and the area being damaged.

3:23 However. To make a long story short. it is possible they reverted some of that damage during my stay at the Bichat hospital in Paris later that year where i checked due to intense legs pain following riding a bus for days. But that pain was sciatic in nature and got fixed after only one chiropractic manipulation back in the US i think in 2006.

There, i slept about 4 hours with an IV in my hand and i suspected they did at least a laser procedure on my eyes without telling me because i had trouble reading the next couple of days. Though i do well with glasses for reading (1.25, no prescription), to this day i never needed glasses for long distance.

That, following an encounter with then future President Sarkozy, acting as a doctor at the military hospital in Metz where i checked after i got off the bus (Atlasib) due to both leg pains and ear pains i developed during the same bus trip. From there i took the train to Paris, which was stopped on a field for about half hour when close to Paris. When i got in Paris, there was this freaky wind on the streets around Gare du Nord.

I would not lie about the purpose of my trip. I knew medical insurance was mandatory for any travel to France so i paid for one together with my ticket, thinking i would check into a hospital there for some reason so they could check me up entirely. Decent doctors and hospitals that is. I also had my Cigna insurance from the US that had some coverage for travels abroad. It was what they call nowadays a "medical tourism".

I met with him again while i was working at that gas station in Beaverton, when he came with a big black SUV to fill up and i heard him speaking French on the phone and spoke with him a little, not knowing who he was.

4:00 Though is 55 degrees outside and 72 inside, with no heating, there is a fan inside the apartment next to ours that runs at night and vibrates everything pretty badly, probably to jam the possible environmental listening further in the building.

10:15 Woke up, changed my patches which BTW, worked really well, i'm almost out of it, i get faint squeaks only from upstairs, like someone gently pressing the floor with one foot than another. Why is so different every day?

The confirmation antibiotics patches, even improvised, without "needles", work. The closer to affected area, the better. My both legs that turned almost black in some areas get whiter and whiter with now almost normal after every course of which i did several this year. Pains localized in almost all bursae areas are now finally almost gone. One or two more days and it's over. For a while until they came back with this environment with wet fiberboard floor.

I also took a very hot bath last night in the very small tub, that could work only for children, i can either fit my legs or my torso with legs on the wall in there, (LOL, i remember what Jane Fonda said each time i do this, though i can't put them behind my neck, never could), the water in the heating tank gets cold by the time they tub is filled, it's very tricky i heated before one more big pot on the stove, and my big fat belly never fits in the water, but i did it and heated up my bum and that helped a lot.

At a certain time i managed to submerge my head in the water with legs way up high on the opposite wall and i heard my heart beating though the water and i thought it sounded weird and gathered all my courage and put the stethoscope on my chest after getting out of there which i didn't in quite a while and could not hear any murmur or split sound however it was beating fast and lately i get high blood pressure because of constant squeaks upstairs that seem to follow my brainwaves. The pressure goes down almost to normal like if i stay half hour or one hour inside ER when it's almost perfect silence (except for sometimes slammed door and voiced there).

But imagine this. After 28 years and all that happened Angela still has to work 9 to 5 5 to 4 like she does today sometimes Saturdays or up to 60 hours a week like last week. But in the mean time i do my homework too.

After i wrote the above entry and my brain got in "full gear" though i'm not fully awake (diabetes) the squeaks upstairs intensify, especially when i get emotional just by remembering stuff.

I don't have any specialized software, i don't have "diddly squat", it took me a minute to save and upload the last squeaks that really got me mad, one more minute time to grab the link and put it here in which "she" took off, like they often do. Now i'm finally all alone here in this part of the building. However, mad, cause she squared me in the kitchen area when i was eating.

11:40 Yeah i went to pick some "colitas" and when i was done the short woman with the huge gray dog with white spots came while i was leaving and she put an arrogant, intrigued though pitiful face (building D), like "what i was doing" while the huge hound raised a leg and started peeing on a fence. Now i got to get back to see if she picked.

So it was him the guy who passed dressed in full military suit and saluted one of the two therapists (the blond one) while i was discharged in January 2003 after the second stay at Woodland Park. From there i was taken to Ryles Center, now closed.

1:47 While i was using my walk on the streets, a number of women with dogs doing memes of Alexa made me smile.

These flowers are supposed to be blue, right? No, it's not the camera, this is how i saw them in reality too. Could it be the 500 shades of gray of the Oregon autumn clouds? High altitude haze?
Today i saw the sign. But i had to wait until a sassy quite hot blond woman with a dog cleared the area.

Purge Canister Air Filter Solenoid

It's not your grandpa's car anymore. Since the 70s, they introduced a most puzzling concept followed by a number of devices. PCV. It stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation.

It does pretty much what it says. Releases pressure from the engine. Engine runs, pistons open easier especially on admission cycle if there is no pressure on the other side of combustion chamber. Here's an illustration showing how this occurs. A small percentage of the energized gas during combustion cycle pass the piston's rings and pressurizes the main engine compartment or the area beyond pistons.
Up until 70s they had this relief opening on top of the engine that was ending with a small pipe under. Blowby gas is a mixture of unburnt fuel, raw exhaust (not passed through catalytic converter), water vapor and oil vapor.  Due to pollution complaints, that was not acceptable anymore and they came with this idea. Returning those gases in the intake manifold, mix them with air and gas and burn them again. It was called PCV system.

It was working and nobody complained about for a long time. However, if uncontrolled through design, it may produce a variety of problems, including corrosion and mainly condensation of oil on the cold intake runners' walls and pouring in the engine, affecting valves, spark plugs and creating carbon deposits on the top of the cylinder, etc..

The biggest problem of course is carbon deposit on valves which start to interfere with their functioning. Valves become "sticky" that is they can't open anymore at certain engine stages (low RPM, cold engine) by they hydraulic lifters wichi are designed to fill with engine oil to eliminate any play. Oil gets squished out of the lifters and starts foaming, which is a bad condition for the bearings that are lubricated with that oil.

At non GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection engines) has injectors spraying fuel in the intake runners, or before the valves. This help with cleaning of the valves. However, there are new generation high efficiency engines that use little gasoline at cruise speeds and that is not enough to clean those.

Many gas sellers advertise their gas as having cleaning features. This is what they're talking about and it's a real problem.

There are ways to minimize this phenomenon however not used by any manufacturer i know about. You can install an empty can on the return PCV line and have the oil condensate and fall in it. However, it may not work if the pipe before the can is close to the engine and gets hot. Blowby will still pass and condensates inside the intake. Last version of the catch can i installed on the Hyundai uses a corrugated copper pipe that is passed through an larger pipe (empty can) that allow air to flow and prevent heat from engine to reach for it and indeed it minimized the sticky valves phenomenon, becoming marginal and intermittent.

However, there is another problem. Fuel pump filter is not or hardly serviceable at this car, being in the tank and in time fuel pressure start do decrease. This is aggravated by a bad battery and connectors at the battery, lowering the voltage for the fuel pump, bad gasoline or gasoline without alcohol which usually cleans and especially dissolves water.

Last time i filled the car with gasoline at Spirit Mountain Shell i noticed the noise condition improved dramatically. For the first gallon of fuel used or that 50 miles trip back home. The next day it came back to "normal". I figured, maybe it has something to do with vacuum being created inside the tank by the purging system. Another newer anti-pollution feature of cars which insure that the fuel tank does not have and/or releases fuel vapors in the air, with a charcoal canister and a system of valves that allow the computer to "purge" or literally scuk back in the again intake the extra vapors. However, if too much vacuum is being applied to the fuel tank, it starts to interfere with the fuel pump and ultimately the fuel pressure at the injectors. (Some of) the injectors start to drip and can't clean the valves anymore. On this car computer has the possibility to allow atmospheric air to go into the tank to release the vacuum however through a, you guessed, title of the post, a small air filter. Which is on the service list of 30k and is located under the car next to the charcoal canister.

So i opened and closed the tank cap every time when i noticed the noise and mostly at the beginning of every trip and voia! Noise was gone last night for most of the 150 mile round trip to the beaches.

The ironic part is, i had the filter since 2 years ago when i almost figured the problem. But finding oil and manually purging it from the intake and fiddling with the catch can made me forget about it. Also three years ago i almost went for an appointment to replace fuel filter, which doesn't make much sense to replace at this car without the fuel pump.

So today i went and jacked the car and removed the small air filter. I was expecting to find it clogged (and or the air pipe) with pine needles that were built in that area up to half inch when i got the car (from the road she was doing daily probably). That was not the case. But what i found was a solenoid next to filter again used by computer, that could have been intermittently stuck. I poured some 91% isopropyl alcohol in it and it came dirty. I tested it with a meter and a battery and it works and on the bench it doesn't get stuck. I put it back together with the new filter.
In the image representing the whole purge system, solenoid is nr.6, filter is 7.

I figured it would have been useless to go to a dealer and have it done at service interval, if they didn't check the solenoid as well.

Too many times i noticed all these optimizing devices interfere with the function of the vehicle, in the end making the pollution worse because the conditions they create are hard to diagnose, unsignaled by "check engine light" and sometimes expensive to fix not because of parts involved but because of high quality labor and time needed for diagnose. Most mechanics ignore them anyways.

Hyundai Motor America

Last week i thought i finally fixed my car after i figured a way to measure oil viscosity with a straw. After figuring they put 5W30 and said it was 5W20 (manufacturer's recomandation) on May 2, i went again on May 4 and had another oil change.  The car quieted down until i came back from Lincoln City. I started to suspect somebody put oil additive in my engine but when i came back i checked viscosity again and it was not changed. But on my way i stopped at Grande Ronde and added 6 more gallon of fuel and the noise stopped again. So i figured it could be also something wrong with the fuel. So after watching some videos i tried to pull a gas sample from the car to check if it had extra aclohol which could cause problems with injectors. Could not succeed with a soft rubber tube because of a safety device the newer cars have which prevent from gas spilling during a rollover. However when i started the car the noise stopped. Then i finally figured it was the vacuum applied to the tank by the evaporative control system that was creating enough difference in fuel pressure for car to slighly missfire. Which meant the fuel pressure was marginal which could only happen if the fuel filter was clogged. So i thought it was worth it to try and change the fuel filter which probably was not changed in 55k miles or never on that car. So i watched a video on youtube on how to do that. However it is scary. No car has fuel filter inside the fuel tank. I could not possibly do it myself and i remembered Jiffy Lube declinded to do so also last year. Dealer was the only option.
I believe it was August 1st last year. I went and made an appointement for an oil change at Beaverton Hyundai. After the service person took the VIN number and made the appointement i left the dearleship. On my way out, Stan Miller, Manager of Service Department ran after me and asked me to roll the window down which i did and he told me i was banned for his dealership, for reason of "messing too much with the car". In those days i had a moisture and oil filter on the PCV line. Not the happiest choise, since then i tried many things and ended with a catch can but certainly the car was not in imediate danger of being damaged. He was in his office while the service guy made the appointement with the door open and didn't say anything in front of other people.

Previously he told me that i had my car overfilled with oil at his own service which may have resulted in oil getting in the intake. He also told me that the angle in which the nozzle is held when filling with oil matters as oil could get in the intake. He made me climb into a similar car and made me listen at the same clicking sound or worse then mine telling me "It's a Hyundai!".

I wrote here extensively about the reasons why the oil get in the intake.

Previously i asked him to replace engine head, where the noise came, he first accepted, then i changed my mind and when i asked him again he said he could to it but that would not help and he didn't want to take my money for nothing. The guy reminded me of the Australian country singer Ketih Urban.

At that dealership i had done a battery change right after buying the vehicle, at least one oil change, AC service and was banned at the attempt to do the second oil change after a long trip in southern US. The engine was still overfilled after i chaned oil at Murdoch Hyundai in Salt Lake City in the meantime. Ever since they keep sending me coupons. Today i spoke with several people, including Ale and i believe twice with Annie at their service. They kept asking me to spell my name and never calling me back. My question was if i could use the coupons and come back to do a fuel filter change. In the end i asked Annie to pull me from their mailing list and she said i have to hold for a confirmation and that kinda tipped me. I mean, why do i need a confirmation i was removed from a mail list? I'm sure they will do as they please.

Later i called the corporation where i spoke to Alexis. Never answering straight, never helping with a resolution, contradictory, bullying. I think there is a whole culture of bullying at Hyundai. She wanted to give me a case number but i remembered last time i talked to them they sent me an email after. So i'm waiting for the email.

What i wanted was either a written confirmation that i was banned or acceptance to fix my fuel filter and use the coupons they keep sending me.

Could not find the manual tonight, i found only this quick reference guide with the Maintenance schedule on the back.
How do you inspect a fuel filter? https://www.google.com/search?q=fuel+filter+inspect

How often you replace a fuel filter for a 2013 Elantra (Eternal)? Found this on a forum. Today i talked to three different people, one with an accent and one a Korean. They said you don't have to replace it.

" We changed the filter as my book says to change it at 60,000 km for warranty purposes. I don't have a lot of money and the mechanics here wanted $460.00 to replace the filter"

2014 Elantra sedan, 1.8 liter engine, similar to mine. https://www.hyundai-forums.com/md-2011-2016-elantra-sedan-coupe/637601-fuel-filter-change.html

Had it with Beaverton Hyundai. Just called Gladstone Hyundai (next as distance) and asked for a fuel tank air filter and a fuel filter. They don't have the fuel filter separately but only with pump and it costs over 400 dollars. For the other one i payed 26 and will be there 2-3 business days. Parts guy was new and i heard him talking with another guys trying to figure the parts out. Then he passed me to the cashier who asked the credit card twice and my address and phone number.

Just called Ron Tonkin Hyundai. Finally figured why they don't sell filters. They have a service called "flushing" of the fuel system which is supposed to clean the filter. They said car should also have sensors for fuel tank pressure and fuel pressure, so i should try and read those to see what's happening. Fact is if i take the fuel tank cap off and put it back on the noise (click, or tick) at the engine mostly disappears.

In the mean time i found the manual. It was sitting fallen behind the desk. There is no such thing as "flushing" of the fuel system or replacing the fuel filter. It's still a mistery to me as what's hapeening.

The laws of common sense say that if the gasoline has dirt in it (and all gasoline has some) the filter should catch it and in the process it will saturate with that dirt needing replacment.

There are some contradiction regarding fuel filter replacement in this page. It is not clear what the word "clean" means. Hope it is not a joke since this is the first time when i heard a filter can be cleaned. It is true i go on the patio from time to time and blow my hepa and carbon filters in the opposite direction to air flow to remove some dust and prolong their life. However i don't see how you can revert flow in that filter while in place and if you do so how you don't contaminate your hole fule tank. I will come back tomorrow with a clearer picture (need some day light, flash creates reflection) and Mannix starts right now at 2 AM on the west coast. As far as replacement goes, i cannot find any filter at the dealers without the pump.

Al modern cars built since January 1 1996 have an serial interface with the on-board computer called OBDII. (On board Diagnostic). Provided you have a tool you can interface with the computer, read sensor readings and set parameters. You could also change the whole software. The tools in the past cost thousands of dollars, now you can to it with a bluetooth device and a $2.99 App from Microsoft. Here is the screenshot with the readings of the fuel tank pressure sensor, done outside the purge phase of the evap system.  I had a similar software on the tablet, which i paid 10 dollars for (Torque) but since i reset the tablet last time cannot download it unless if i pay again. (Free version could also read sensors but it doesn't work.) So it's really hard to read that sensor during purge cycle to diagnose the system. Computer is supposed to throw a check engine light if the pressure does not go down enough within that cycle, which involves applying vacuum to the thank. However if you have a clogged fuel tank air filter (which i never knew existed) that is not going to show up. (Together with oh so many malfunctions the computer can't catch and won't turn a check engine light on.)

This car before me has been driven on a road that had pine needles on it and it had a layer of half inch of those on the mud flaps on the rear wheels. That filter is located under one of those flaps on left rear but is exposed to dirt from the road, which puzzles me. I just ordered one of those at ... Gladstone Hyundai and i think if i remove half of the mud flap i can do it here in the parking lot and also take a picture of the location. Is it possible that that filter let dirt contaminate the fuel tank which in turn contaminated the fuel filter that is downstream from the pump and for this car is located inside the tank, an unusual or even unique design so it's very hard to replace as shown in the video above and could not be order separately.

By interfacing with the computer i also figured there is no fuel pressure sensor, which is common for this class of vehicles. Because of that, a "flushing" of the system that is supposed to clean the fuel filter, offered both by dealer and Jiffy lube cannot be measured or quantified. Also the car does not a fuel line port to measure the fuel pressure with the engine on which is unusual for this class of cars and is impossible to evaluate or "inspect" the fuel filter as recommended in the manual seen in the picture above.

Interstellar Communications Through Quantum Entanglement

Brushed up 4/03/2023

Everybody has seen the news about Quantum Entanglement. They are not exactly new news but just revived ones. For some of us though, they are. And people of the whole planet reading about can now brainstorm and come up with ideas.

http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/01/20/quantum-entanglement-what-it-is-and-why-its-relevant/

What came to mind is the possibility of interstellar communications. And not only in the future but probably since longtime ago in the past.

It has already been stated that "It thus appears that one particle of an entangled pair "knows" what measurement has been performed on the other, and with what outcome, even though there is no known means for such information to be communicated between the particles, which at the time of measurement may be separated by arbitrarily large distances."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement

Ok. If photons can spontaneously split into entangled pairs,  let's say that a number of photons arriving to Earth from a certain star can be entangled with photons arriving from the same star on a different planet at the same distance like that of Earth - source star.

All you need is a way to separate those from photons coming from all directions, filter them from non entangled ones and a way to measure them.

The communicating through measuring of the entangled photons is instant regardless of distance. However, in practice it can be real time duplex only if the two planets are at similar distances from the place of the splitting of the photons, because the entangled photons need to arrive at both ends simultaneously. The place in space where such communication can practically occur is on the surface of a sphere like in the picture in this article.

http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20141112-will-et-understand-our-messages

And for planets in motion, that can happen only for brief periods of time, at certain times.

Or maybe there is a way to trap entangled photons during those brief moments and use them... later!

Needles to say, there can be already devices on Earth that just do that, for immemorial times.
