Covered in secrecy, over millennia, they deciphered old Hindu scriptures that had hidden all the roots of the modernism, the new (to us) concepts in physics that lead to great technological advances of the past century that allowed the beginning of heating up the planet. But they kept some of them hidden as contrary to their purpose.

In Japan they reinstated the emperors as a continuation of dynasty of direct descendants of the shinto Sun Goddess, Amaterasu (Meiji restoration), who are actually actors, so they can motivate people to do their work. 

Ironically the same people (Aryans) who caused the apparition of the concept of Moksha and later Nirvana in Hindu philosophy are now implementing the false idea they got from Buddha's sermon.
