În urma unui şir de întâmplări care ar putea face uşor subiectul altor poveşti, am ajuns, de bine, de rău să înţeleg limbi străine începând din liceu, în special franceza şi engleza. Prin asta am început să înţeleg cuvintele la unele melodii "străine", unele "scăpate" prin grila deasă a cenzurii comuniste, altele pe benzi magnetice, "trase" de la unii la alţii.
Ce nu înţelegeam completam cu imaginaţia. (Pe atunci nu era internet cu versuri la orice melodie şi chiar dacă aveam un dicţionar, nu întotdeauna înţelegeam pronunţia ca să caut în el sau nici măcar nu puteam memora toate cuvintele când se desfăşura o melodie ca să le scriu sau traduc).
Când spun străin, înţeleg tot ce e la vest de să zicem, Viena, fiindcă austriecii nu prea au intrat cu hit-uri în circuitul muzicii pop mondiale, cel puţin nu-mi vine în minte nici un nume acum.
Bine, pentru mine şi pentru mulţi nu exista nici o diferenţă între muzica europeană şi cea americană, la fel ca şi între cele două culturi.
(Îmi amintesc de exemplu de Păunescu, Dumnezeu să-l ierte, care spunea în
gura mare pe oriunde era auzit, cel mai mult la "cenaclul" Flacăra că
totul era gunoi cu aplauze înregistrate şi momeală pentru tineretul de
la noi (practic el prin acea "întâmplare" artistică încerca să recreeze
genurile şi tipurile de muzică din vest, fenomen care era întâlnit de
fapt în toată scena muzicală pop românească)).
Relativ recent, de vreo 5 ani am pornit o "campanie" masivă de reevaluare a tuturor melodiilor mele favorite şi a trece prin versuri şi a le înţelege în sfârşit, complet. În mare parte din cauză că am ajuns în sfârşit la un nivel de înţelegere a limbii engleze care îmi permite aceasta.
Este poezie şi este filozofie în majoritatea versurilor melodiilor lor. Mult mai multă decât credeam eu în acel timp. De fapt unele sunt adevărate eseuri.
Din păcate însă în multe dintre ele sub masca poeziei se ascunde orice, de la politica momentului la îndemnuri subliminale, acestea din urmă lipsite de orice morală sau scrupul din partea autorilor.
Altele, oricât le-aş asculta, deşi la prima vedere sugerează tot felul de imagini poetice, care frapează imaginaţia dar până la urmă par lipsite de orice sens, ca de exemplu unele melodii de Phil Collins sau Elton John. Nu am înţeles niciodată ce simte Phil Collins în aer că vine în noaptea aceasta, ceva ce el a aşteptat toată viaţa. Mai uşor mi-a fost totuşi să înţeleg ce nu ar face Meatloaf pentru dragoste. (LOL după ce am dat search-uri pe google timp de câteva ore şi citit nu ştiu câte forumuri. De fapt el spune ce nu ar face undeva la începutul melodiei într-un vers, inexplicabil trecut cu vederea, sau cu auzirea, de mai toţi). Ca să nu vorbim acum de Beatles. Beatles are un loc cu totul aparte. Sau ABBA. Etc.
Din intuiţia mea de atunci şi din cea de acum mi-am făcut o proiecţie asupra întregii culturi vestice, şi am întrezărit o societate avansată, în care oamenii, cel puţin câteodată îşi vorbesc unii altora în poezii şi cântece.
Îmi amintesc un verset din Biblie, auzit de la David, mecanicul şi patronul de la fostul Computer Age Auto Service, cel care spunea că nu mai sunt mulţi creştini ca el, m-am uitat chiar acum, Efeseni 5 vs 19 "Vorbiţi între voi cu psalmi, cu cântări de laudă şi cu cântări duhovniceşti, şi cântaţi şi aduceţi din toată inima laudă Domnului."
Nu ştiu dacă acest verset se poate aplica la muzica pop contemporană, dar de multe ori când ascult muzică mă gândesc la el. Dar existența lui în Biblie subliniază puterea muzicii, a poeziei asupra psihicului omenesc. Putere amplificată până la paroxism în cazul hit-urilor, care dacă ai un radio deschis în casă sau în maşină le auzi vrând-nevrând de zeci sau sute de ori.
Oricum, am ajuns la ce vroiam să spun de la început. Nu, nu toţi sunt poeţi şi filozofi la vest de Viena.
Dar mai recent, o haită nouă, ciudată, adunată de pe diferite meleaguri ale lumii a pus stăpânire pe o bună parte a "industriei" de entertainment şi folosesc la maximum tot ce se poate folosi din rămăşiţele culturii pop pentru a o întoarce împotriva ei însăşi. Ca dovadă, "artiştii" dar mai ales artistele ultimului deceniu.
Am văzut relativ recent un video cu un rocker celebru care a invitat pe una din divele animatronicii contemporane. S-au căznit împreună să cânte live o melodie rock pe o scenă simplă fără tone de aparatură şi se vedea atât de clar că tipa nici măcar nu nimerea notele.
Sau o întrebare, ce ar vrea să spună versul Young Money raised me din exemplul de mai jos?

Pun pariu că dacă cineva le-ar scoate din priză (adică de la ditamai reţeaua de putere) toată tehnologia, nu ai mai auzi din direcţia lor decât nişte mieunături şi schelălăituri.
Dar tot ce am scris până acum este doar o introducere la ce aş vrea să scriu mai departe, comentarii la versuri din diferite melodii. Voi încerca pe măsură ce le aud la radio. Pentru că unele sunt atât de persistente şi omniprezente încât nu avem scăpare.

5:26 Laptop powered off by itself while on charger with 94% battery while editing last paragraph which i kept on yesterday's post. Awake since 2:40 AM with 6 hours of sleep. Last night i ran into some news about CCR. Not this CCR. I had no idea they sold more albums than Beatles in 69-71 or before breakup, but remembered the first waiter at Stix restaurant, who looked like their drummer, though without beard or mustache. Talking and moving very slowly possibly with an ascites belly.
In 97 at my Les Schwab job there was a guy looking in his early 30s named Jason who started to jump for joy every time they were playing Looking out my back door on then Portland Oldies on a boombox in the shop who looked like Fogerty himself though he would have been 52 at that time. The guy on the Harley with goggles at Castella gas station? Born on the Bayou? Also in Hungary Csaba Ötvös is the husband of Csilla Ötvös.

9:02 Went back to Jiffy Lube where i've been last night and got to speak to the guy who did the filter last night though he seemed younger. Huge noise from the carwash and a dog barking on the other side of the fence prevented a meaningful conversation but basically what he said was he has to remove the valve cover to see and that would be hours of labor at 120/an hour. In the meantime i went to Fred Meyer to buy some Crystal Geyzer spring water and there in the parking lot i opened the oil cap and looked and i saw what i thought it was a bubble in the oil. No drive or turn i make is unexploited, meet with again barrel like objects on the freeway and a van that said Xeno or Xenx clear, which are Scientology terms.

Ancient Egypt is Alive
In Japan.

In Northern Europe there is a similar ancient myth involving a hero suckling a celestial cow.
Ankh is an important clue to where they came from initially (at least some of them) but we can also find a version of it way up North, in a statue of (real) Thor (Horus?)

Cows were introduced to Egypt 8000 years ago when Sahara was green but could have been earlier in other parts of the world. We know that cows put up methane in the atmosphere, a powerful greenhouse gas. Could this have tipped the balance of the climate, breaking the Milankovitch cycles? Then the mighty builders of the pyramids, after deforestation and grazing of Sahara had to move further up north. However in Japan they kept building with paper, an Egyptian invention. Hence the fear of a Sun god.

Scarab. A very important figure in Ancient Egyptian pantheon (literally meaning all gods). Of many colors, they reflect nicely the Sun light. They push their ball of dung guided at night by the stars of the sky, two of the reasons they made it to the pantheon. Ball of dung representing the Sun. They are the cleaners of the Earth. I read somewhere that without them we will be soon covered in dung.

Phoenix
Numele păsării este pomenit de Eminescu în Odă în metru antic. O pasăre mitică din Egiptul antic unde se numea Bennu, care revenea o dată la 500 de ani după ce renăștea din propria cenușă. Vedem o astfel de ciclicitate în istorie, unde am avut o... Renaștere acum 500 de ani, care este un sfert din ultimii două mii de ani ai erei începute cu Nașterea lui Iisus, 1000 de ani de la apariția statului Ungariei pe teritoriul Europei și aproximativ 1500 de ani de la căderea imperiului Roman care a primit una din ultimele lovituri de la hunii conduși de Attila.
Postarea asta este însă despre formația de rock Phoenix care a fost celebră în anii 70 în România. Nu știu dacă voi termina postarea acum în seara (dimineața) asta sau vreodată, doar știu că o încep. Unul din motive a fost că l-am ascultat zilele acestea pe Baniciu, o față și o voce familiară dintr-o altă existență paralelă. Adică am cunoscut pe cineva cu care am petrecut mult timp în copilărie care arăta la fel și avea o voce familiară, deși la școală era declarat afon. Mai era un vecin, mai mare ca noi, care seamănă cu basistul de atunci.
Baniciu de asemenea cântă cu accent recunoscut de mine ca bucovinean, mai precis de Câmpulung, iar multe din temele și ideile sale par a fi luate de acolo. Valea Seacă este un cartier în Câmpulung. Bucovina, poate mai mult ca orice provincie veche românească păstrează probabil cel mai mult caracterul antic dacic, și din cauză depărtării de partea ocupată de romani.
Alt motiv care s-a combinat cu primul și a declanșat această postare a fost însă o melodie a unei formații mult mai celebre care am ascultat-o chiar acum la radio și mi s-a părut că imită o melodie de-a lor.
Am ascultat cred cel puțin o dată, în treacăt, Cantafabule, 1975, "albumul lor cel mai definitoriu" și ultimul înainte de plecarea majorității membrilor în Germania, unde au scos un disc ce seamănă mai mult cu un disc scos de Dracula Band, cel puțin la copertă, fiindcă nu am avut timp și nici tragere să ascult piesele. Am răsfoit puțin albumul Cantafabule, un album ambițios lung și cu de toate, de la folk progresiv până la un fel de proto-metal, la care probabil au contribuit mulți în afara celor 6 și am comparat cu ce am citit pe un site de folk progresiv, unde se pare că sunt încadrați de istoricii improvizați ai muzicii, din care primii și cei mai vocali sunt normal români.
Restul melodiilor, mult mai cunoscute și mai bune decât albumul, normal le-am ascultat la radio ca toată lumea, deși de unele nici nu știam că sunt Phoenix.
Contrar ce am mai citit acolo, pe forum, au făcut abuz de Moog, un instrument nou și fascinant, mai ales în primele piese, ceea ce le făcea greu de ascultat (chiar acum îmi amintesc) pentru o audiență mai largă decât niște entuziaști. O piesă mai melodică ce confirmă inspirația egipteană a numelui formației. Scara Scarabeus, ce pomenește de discul solar și amintește de o altă melodie de-a lor, Te întreb pe tine soare, scoasă cu doi ani mai înainte. Trebuie să amintim aici etimologia cuvântului scârbă din românește, care vine de la gângania pomenită acolo, dar poate și de cea mai celebră copertă, cea a formației Beatles, al cărui nume însuși este un elogiu al aceluiași vechi și frumos colorat dintre gândaci (beetles), având în centru bateria pe post de simbol solar sau gong. Bineînțeles totul are ceva de-a face cu tema dacică și ruina solară de la Sarmizegetusa, însă astăzi eu știu că egiptenii, deși provin de pe teritoriul Dunării de Jos, au plecat (migrat) în Egipt înainte de venirea dacilor, în jur de -3500, să construiască o piramidă în centrul geografic al lumii. Ambiții din epoca de piatră și tărâmul de aur.
Deci ce am auzit în seara asta la radio. Formația Steve Miller Band cu... Swing Town, 1977.
Deși nu e prima dată când mi s-a părut familiară melodia, și chiar că seamănă cu una de Phoenix, nu aș fi crezut vreodată că o să ajung să fac această comparație, pe o postare de blog. Mugur de Fluier, 1973. Dar s-au adunat mai multe motive și iată că o fac. Internetul cu posibilitățile sale, de la căutări ce altă dată ar fi însemnat luni de muncă în vreo două-trei ore, până la publicarea instant, cu tot cu material audio comparativ în fața oricui are un device, ceva. Ceva ce ar fi părut imposibil până acum câțiva ani, iar unora încă li se mai pare magie.
Ascultând de mai multe ori aceste piese mintea m-a dus imediat la o melodie favorită de-a mea, You are the Woman, Firefall, 1976.
Și am rămas puțin pe gânduri după care mi-am amintit de Jethro Tull (tot din forum) și m-am dus la albumul lor definitoriu unde m-am oprit la piesa My God (1969). Poza de pe copertă este a unui boschetar din Londra.
După care am mers să mai ascult o melodie, nu mai știu a câta din albumul lui Phoenix. Aia cu șarpele.
Nu e vorba neapărat de plagiat, dar de ceva normal în lumea artelor. Influențe, confluențe, tributar. Toți se nasc unul din altul, după cum am mai spus. Dorința de a fi pe trend, pe val, dorința de a nu fi în afara valului, uneori lipsa de idei mai bune, rețete sau chiar comoditatea.
White Snake, profețit mai sus de Phoenix al nostru, tot un fel de proto-metalist, care prin anii 90 dat însă în pop-rock și chiar avut succes cu o piesă, a inclus în albumul său de debut o piesă de... Beatles.
O melodie care, nu știu de ce, îmi amintește de
o formație de pop rock din Germania.
Credeam că am terminat când mi-a venit încă o idee. Melodia asta, pe care o consider "a message for the future".

12:34 I remember how frustrated i was 28 years ago (almost) when i came to the US. My English was pretty basic back then and because i couldn't speak my mind, people were showing faces at me that were telling: Idiot... Retard... Psychotic...
Nobody will ever know how painful it was to get here. To write a blog in English and say things that would never have crossed my mind if i didn't come here. I would have never known that a band like Oasis existed. Radio stations in Romania play mostly euro-dance to this day. Would have always got high drowned in sugar.
But always feel the same anxiety when i try to say things i haven't before. I wish i could find quickly the words to describe this band. After peeking in Wikipedia all i saw was... Britpop. Heavily influenced by Beatles. Influential.
What i would say. Same bpm as one song would start from another. Monotone sparkling guitar chords and a plain bold voice. Acceptable but never triggered in me the urge to look for their name. A counterbalance to Nirvana. Eye popping lyrics (One Headlight, where they become distinct and do i feel a bit of late modern new wave psychedelic in there). So to this day i never knew of Oasis, Liam and Noel Gallagher etc. by name. Though i have listened to their music probably as much as to Phil Collins and Sting. Safely blame it on (local) DJs for both.
What made me today. The weird coincidence of this article after me heavily criticizing both of the above.
Not the first time when i heard the phrase: Pill Collins is the must successful untalented guy. Insecure, shy, pretentious. Yes it's true.
But other than a guy named Noel cursing a guy named Phil, i don't really see any anti-racism.
And yes i wouldn't have known that walflowers do exist if i didn't google for the name of the song.
Sadly not the only coincidences in the news (should be getting used by now but it shocks me every time) with what i wrote lately. News about disasters from remote areas. But only by looking carefully, for more than a couple of seconds, you may be realizing those are fake.
1:53 The left front wheel nuts went loose in the same night i torqued them to 10 twice, like all the other wheels, after i went to WinCo. Forgot to re-torque them. Last night i had trouble driving because of those. I went outside to torque those and collect the oil from the catch can. I talked about aloud inside for at least one hour. But when i went i started with torquing and what did i see. The second or third veteran with his wife was returning from the mailboxes. Can't say they got in front of me. But they anticipated the moment i would go to do it.
She, playing victim, he the protector. She wouldn't go to pick the mail alone especially when she knows i'm about to do something at the car (the smallest thing involving oil). Starting to hear a bunch of Hareleys in the distance when i went the second time. Or a military plane on afterburner. Either ways.
They continued like that until i went back inside. A van with White Shinto LPN made a turn using the next spot when i was leaving, getting real close to me. Inside two Japanese models made up almost blond staring at me with shown disgust. In that moment i felt like going and smashing the windows of that van. BTW there wasn't much oil in the can but a couple of onces of water mixed with oil.
To me it looked like this spring, all of a sudden, the car started to put lots of blow by mixture which prompted me to install it.
That emulsion is thin, not like oil and would bounce in the can and probably climb and part of it get inside the intake, defying its purpose. The can came with some sort of metal sponge that would prevent that but i'm afraid to put it in, on counts of what if some metal breaks from it and get in the engine. I'm thinking of using some absorbent material that can't break but that could get sucked into it.
3:13 Getting ready for vacation, got my new GPS. So far. Hard to input addresses. Not all places, like all casinos, are listed. Have to manually put in the current position at start? Truth is i didn't completely learn how to use it but pretty decent for 60 bucks. Choice from many other Chinese ones at the same price was battery (2500 mAh) and list of places. Nicest thing. It shows speed limit in any area and tells you if you are over it and after that one more time if you are over that +10. A half second delay in vocal turn announcement that may become critical at times.
Stuck with a suction cup on the windshield, same problem as with my dashcam that got destroyed by heat from sunlight. Tried and put a piece of aluminum foil in the back of it to prevent this.

Was getting bored and about to close that page when i saw this and then made a link with this which got me excited again.

9:00 Apropo, Am avut o scădere dramatică a glicemiei după un tratament mai lung cu antibiotice administrate pe piele (tablete lipite cu plasture, bandaj peste pentru puțină presiune), pentru o infecție la un braț. Încep să cred din ce în ce mai mult că diabetul este de fapt o infecție cronică a pancreasului.Infecția trece destul de ușor, cu antibiotice administrate intramuscular sau intravenos sau pe piele (patches), nu oral fiindcă îl irită mai tare, glicemia nu scade însă complet și imediat din cauza acumulărilor din țesuturi și micșorarea capacității pancreasului în timpul infecției (probabil cicatrizare).
Sursa infectării pancreasului este aproape întodeauna dentară, cu propagare inițială în glandele salivare și aproape întodeauna apare reinfectarea pancreasului după încetarea tratamanentului, dacă dinții nu sunt tratați.
În cazul meu reinfectarea a apărut din cauză că am mâncat într-o zi (duminică dimineața) fără proteză dentară, din lene (somn fragmentat) ceea ce a dus la iritarea gingiei, după care am mâncat (foarte puțină) ciocolată și mai târziu cartofi prăjiți dați prin ceva (pâine uscată sau făină de porumb) într-un restaurant gol, care a intrat sub proteză, urmat de dureri de cap moderate și frisoane. Infectarea pancreasului se simte ca o durere moderată de stomac, suportabilă, uneori constantă, dar mai în spate și lateral, apare creșterea numărului globulelor albe, dar în limite.
Am reluat antibioticele, după 24 de ore încă am ușoare dureri de gingie, cap, spate și frisoane.

Latin language is close to Sanskrit (common ancestor of most Indian languages) and probably evolved from a language that was spoken in India at that time. Roman, Greek and Hindi pantheons are similar. Romans came from India. (Dacian language was also close to Sanskrit, but from initial Indo-European migration towards west).

Uttar Pradesh is neighboring with Nepal, where Buddha was born in @ -500. Also close to eastern border of India, where the snakes could have landed from Australia.
A small contribution to the future to help solve some of history's mysteries. Time travel.
I know Ceaușescu was not who he said or we thought he was but probably Romanian patriots at the time convinced them to go there and do this little scene.

Also a few seconds after i took the picture i saw a woman with a blonde little girl passing. I really don't understand. This whole place must be under constant surveillance on cameras leaked on the internet, but if i take a picture of my own car i start being suspicious, to those who look through those cameras, as well as in casinos?
