Anima, αμίαντο

Following an idea i opened a Wikipedia page that put in my face for the first time the word antaryAmin, अन्तर्यामिन्, meaning soul in Sanskrit.

I quoted a few days or weeks ago from an answer on Quora which was basically argumenting that vedic Sanskrit is very close to hypothetical PIE. (Proto Indo European Language).

Here comes in hand a host of arguments that strengthen that idea, all related to the word above.

Composed of two Sanskrit words, Antary and Amin.

Antary maye have give birth in Europe to the following words

Interior in Latin

Entendre in French

Enter in English

Aminat to

αμίαντο (in the sense of indestructible) in Greek

Anima mea in Latin

Derived verb AminAti to

Amâna (delay, put aside) in Romanian

Am (first person singular verb to be) in English

Mean in English

Also figured from the same page (by the same luck) the second part of the etymology of the name Siddhartha -  siddhi (supernatural power) + artha (true sense).

And the origin of the word "sfat" (advice) in Romanian. sphoTa (in the sense of disclosure).

Thelepathy

I reached the limits of the scope of the previous post which was on an idea about conscious intervention in society and history through meditations and teachings of Buddha. In the end i started to get into the other stuff, mystic, superpowers, among which telepathy. I was interested long time ago in telepathy but nowadays i am interested in different ways. There are events in my life which cannot be explained except through some means of communications that eludes me. Among those, unexplained synchronizations of others with actions i decided upon on a too short notice to be met with.

Awakening of Buddha is part of his "official" biography and the phrase "I am awake" is attributed to him. I also ran long time ago into the idea of "awakening of the kundalini", a magic or spiritual said power present in a dormant state in all us. Could it be a means of communication or togetherness based on now scientifically recognized form of communication called "vibrational" that through training can be brought somehow under conscious (or subconscious) control, pretty much like learning how to speak using vocal cords and other vocal instruments during childhood.

Some yogis claim telepathy exists and is based on the second of the 4 levels of communications between spiritual entities described in the Upanishad (part of Hindu Scriptures). But first i have to re-write the text of a page that seems very much on this subject in a synthetic manner revealing information from Hindu Scriptures and close to scientific language, however it needs some English brushing cause it's hard to read which i'm gonna just do. In text have stricken the not so correct words and underlined my additions.

Beginning of text:

Telepathy is a greek word which is made of two terms roots, ‘tele’ meaning “distant” and pathy/patheia meaning “to be affected by”, and is supposed to be the transfer of information on thoughts or feelings between individuals by means other than the five commonly accounted senses. This is a communication through means other than the senses, as or by the exercise of an occult power.

It has been used since yore by the mystics in some ways or another. This can be used by the ones who are spiritually developed and who practice concentration development exercises, the self introspection, meditation and Samadhis.

It is mentioned in Puranas (which is considered by Chhandogya Upanishad as the 5th Veda), that the highly elevated souls would know and understand the thoughts, emotions, desires of the ordinary people, who are through what is called as Antaryamin.

This issue (Antaryamin) is explained in detail in the seventh Brahman of 3rd chapter of Brihadaranyak Upanishad (which is the greatest Upanishad amongst all).

Sage Yajnavalkya, the leading Seer of this Upanishad, discloses this mystery unto the son of sage Arun named Uddalak.

When you go through the revelations, meditate on them and understand, you know and realize that the very Soul of all the beings is an one and an all knowing one (Antaryamin). Whosoever understands this mystery, believes strongly and becomes convicted convinced, becomes Antaryamin.

Our Soul is an All Knowing One, so as long as we live merged with That, we are All Knowing One, we can hear distant talks, chatterings (Door-shravan); we can have remote viewing (Door-darshan), and some other psychich perfections. We can develop our ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) and can enjoy some or all of siddhis. Apart from it, knowingly or unknowingly, everybody, even ignorant of all these mysteries, can receive or send the thoughts.

Rigveda tells that our thoughts have 4 layers or levels of communication

1. Para, Subtlest layer, which is the fastest communication, you think and that is prompted transmitted in no time.

2. Pashyanti, 3rd layer, which is used by angels or devas/devis; this that plane of thoughts where Telepathy takes place.

3. Madhyama, 2nd layer, which is expressed and understood by gestures and

4. Vaikhari, the gross ordinary, lower layer of thoughts, which are spoken or written and can be understood even by lay ones (can't figure yet). The first three inner layers of thoughts are used (subconsciously) by all but understood only by the Seers or Yogis but while the most gross lowest layer named vaikhari is used and understood by almost all except the lunatics.

It is said that once Maharishi Raman had received a telepathy telepathic request of an aspirant who was roaming somewhere in Delhi in the search of a True Guru, he inspired him from there and that aspirant reached to his Ashram.

Telepathy is one of the Supernatural Powers (Siddhis) which can be developed with some of the practices of Ashtanga Yoga of Sage Patanjali such as concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana), and trance (samadhi).

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the classic text on Yoga, lists several exercises which accelerate the development of the eight Siddhis ranging from invisibility to walking on water [some of the ninja superpowers (which i don't believe in) as well].

In Yoga or Spirituality siddhis are believed to be as side effects of the meditation and suggested not to heed them, even by  or even forbidden by some of sages. they are forbidden.

The Visions of gods may appear and occasionally supernatural powers such as clairvoyance and telepathy are developed. Both of these effects can be also deliberately produced [through means described above]. Concentration on a mental image will sometimes result in visions, particularly if the concentration is done with devotion or if there is a strong desire for the visions to appear.

In modern times, it has been researched in 1882 by the classical scholar Fredric W. H. Myers. Since then it has been used by many people in more effective ways, just after a due training.

End of text.

In Wikipedia the 4 levels or layers of communication are in a different order. Here is a quote from there about Sansrkit language i had an intuition and spoke about with someone on the phone since the first time i came in contact with this language maybe 6-7 years ago. I think i said something like Sanskrit is indestructible because it is written in our DNA (a metaphor cause i don't believe in current DNA theory).

"He associates the Pashyanti level of language with sphota, representing a meaning as a whole, existing in the mind of the speaker as a unity. Sphota or the whole-meaning comprises dhvani (the word-sound) and artha (word-meaning). Haney points out that the unity of name and form, of sound and meaning, on the level of sphota in Pashyanti applies mainly to Sanskrit language"

About Buddha's Meditation

I was surprised many times how early ideas based on few informations about something anticipated for a long time are more accurate or coincide with those at the end of careful examination on a subject.

So i will write freely about my thoughts so far from little i read about how Buddha created a whole new world through meditation. A world very different from ours due to geographical distance translated in different ways of thinking and acting in most social occasions.

Any person with a social status no matter how rich has certain social duties to attend. Even a prince. I would assume he was pretty bush with daily business and being an intelligent person he would gradually become disgusted with the world he was encountering on daily basis.

So disgusted he gave up his princehood to become a monk and he went first into an ascetic phase as all monks did at that time. The sacrifice. He then realized nothing was coming out of that one too. Too many constraints, too many duties as well. Or missing too much of the life before. He then had a revelation and went into what today know as a middle way or compromise between asceticism and some sort of worldly indulgence. Best of both worlds. The happy Buddha phase.

And the bowl. He wouldn't give up a monk's lifestyle. Or could not return to his previous life he had before. By living only by donations he was probably returning some good advices and encountered more experiences of others. By not being constrained by rules of ascetic life he started to have a lot of time to meditate at his previous experiences and of those who he met daily. That is sorting out things he encountered so far or was still encountering and sharing those thoughts through teachings or preachings if you want. This way, by having education and enough experience of the world through his previous status and also time and motivation (disgust with the world as he knew it) and intelligence to sort all those things out, a very rare combination to this day he started to give never heard before solutions that went all the way to generalizing as rules, and started to build up a whole new world. From his mind only. Sophisticated and simple in the same time.

Cultural differences with the west became even more complicated to the point of total incompatibility. The many subtle observations and solutions though teachings convinced many and rose to rules that were probably not always very well understood by all (as it happens to followers who may not have full mental capacity of their masters) especially centuries later. His way of life and teachings (which are always incomplete cause a man will never finish his job in a lifetime) may had give birth to sects with a lot of power by unifying members in those beliefs who then started to believe it's their duty to share all that knowledge with the world. All religions come sooner or later at that point.

Then marriage with shintoism in Japan. Integrating Shintoism into Buddhism which are both polytheistic but of complete different cultural and historical background (India and Japan) meant all the raw power of shamanism (a system of manipulating natural phenomena) entered and somehow integrated into a well regulated system of thinking but that marriage probably was never meant to be by the originator and probably not a holy one.

A hidden form of Buddhism, God knows mixed with what (i haven't read Dianetics) may be Scientology.

"According to the Mahaparinibbana Sutta of the Pali canon, at the age of 80, the Buddha announced that he would soon reach parinirvana, or the final deathless state, and abandon his earthly body".

A belief also found in Scientology called "dropping of the body". Needless to say Ron Hubbard the founder of Scientology can be anagramated as Reborn Budha and Dianetics, his main work, resembles in name with dhyāna or Buddha's middle way. "According to Tilmann Vetter, the core of earliest Buddhism is the practice of dhyāna, as a workable alternative to painful ascetic practices. Bronkhorst agrees that Dhyānawas a Buddhist invention".

I was thinking of something else when i was writing this but one phrase in Wikipedia, about the death of Buddha threw me away back towards similarities between Scientology and Buddhism.

Others have been done it before, much metter that i will ever have time.

http://carolineletkeman.org/propaganda/metteyya.html

There is at least one element of shamanism in Scientology and that is the so called measurement of human's body resistance (actually of the contact between the palms and metal cylinders) during auditing sessions.

But could Buddha (or Siddhārtha Gautama in Sanskrit) have draw so much attention and followers if it wasn't also something magic about him?

We know from his biographies that during is pilgrimage throughout India he received training from different yogis.

"He left Rajagaha and practised under two hermit teachers of yogic meditation. After mastering the teachings of Alara Kalama (Skr. Ārāḍa Kālāma), he was asked by Kalama to succeed him. However, Gautama felt unsatisfied by the practice, and moved on to become a student of yoga with Udaka Ramaputta (Skr. Udraka Rāmaputra). With him, he achieved high levels of meditative consciousness and was again asked to succeed his teacher. But, once more, he was not satisfied, and again moved on."

There are things that were never fully explored by westerners and one of them is yoga.

What if yogis, through millennia of practice discovered and mastered that level of communication that occurs within most vertebrates which today we know as "vibrational communication". Could it be the accomplishment of that actually the awakening buddhism is talking about?

Nevermind what i was thinking. Just ran into something else. We all know Star Wars was inspired from eastern mythology. Yoda in sanskrit means fighter and there was a series of samurai drama movies in Japan called Jedigeki Knights. How about Darth Sidious and the common English words insidious (with a synonym restless) and assidious both comming from Latin?
