So far i heard (of ) yelling singers with most classic example, ABBA. Mooing singers, like David Kushner and Hozier. Artificial trembling voices like Pope Malone's and Weaknd. But i never realized they were mumbling singers until i heard this song again, after many years, last Saturday on 100.7 The Otter and played the original version today.

I heard this song many times back then but i never figured it was Mark Knopfler's.

Probably the most missrecorded song ever, with his voice volume to low compared to those dashing country guitar fills. Or maybe it was a great song but just not fit for his voice. Cause in Mary Carpenter's interpretation, a singer with real vocal capabilities, it became one of the greatest ...country songs ever! Too bad they never made a video after it.
