FAA Rules Violations

Dozens of planes making a terrible noise, for years. I've been complaining to PDX noise management and FAA until i got tired of it. On Port of Portland noise management web site there is a link to www.webtrack.com.

One day i got so mad after a conversation with FAA that i started making a collection of what i think are clear violations. However, this web site is not reliable. I saw planes flying much lower and closer than shown there. So i picked a date, May 1st and dragged that slider with the mouse and took screen shots until i got bored. I forgot about that little project but i saved a few screen shots. Here there are.

According to FAA, a plane cannot fly in urban "congested"  areas below 1500 ft above ground level. Average elevation on the map below is 200 to 300 ft, and where i live, where the house is shown on the map in the last 4 pictures below there are about 750 ft.

Everything Breaks

Since i moved in here many strange things happened they didn't happen an the other apartment. I mean they did but on a smaller scale. Besides endless cleaning and repairing of things broken, old and smelly.

After a few days my blood pressure monitor disappeared. I've been using it a lot in the past, maybe obsessively. I found it months later in a box in the storage in the balcony. Then it broke. The little air bag that was pressing when it was inflating got pierced.

I don't know if i can remember many things from the past, but i'll try. I'll start with the last one i found today. A month ago i replaced the shower hose. It was about five years old, ten bucks at Home Depot or Lowes, i liked it because it was light and flexible. The handle itself broke by the thread where it joints the flexible hose.

I bought a similar one at Lowes, about a month ago. A few days ago it was leaking and i tightened it by hand, lightly. Today the nut is cracked.

I had in the bathroom a number of spray bottles with all kind of cleaners, cleaning enzymes and stuff like that. For a few days now the exhaust fan at my down stairs neighbor runs continuously, day and night. It is out of balance and vibrates. The floor vibrates, the whole bathroom vibrates and all the bottles caps came loose. I had some chlorine left in a gallon bottle under the sink that had a loose cap. Yesterday i touched with my knee the door of the cabinet that closes the space under the sink when was opened and it broke with no effort, didn't fixed it yet. The result is this morning in the bathroom smelled like chlorine and other stuff. I thought it was coming from the walls from my neighbors, but after i cleaned everything and closed all the bottles and removed them from the bathroom i think the smell disappeared.

All this things happen mostly around holidays. To me holidays started to become a nightmare.

So this morning before i cleaned the bathroom we went for a walk in the park. I forgot something and came back from the parking lot. Just before i got into the car i saw this very low flying plane, making no noise, just above the tress.

About one hour after i came from the park (a three mile walk, 400 ft climb) i got really sick.

Yesterday i went to the ocean. (got some pictures on flickr here ). I ran out of gasoline and went to a Chevron in Seaside at @4:50. I bought 20 dollars worth of gasoline and when i tried to get back on the road, thinking heading south, a large gray silver truck (I think it was a Silverado with heightened supsension) with no license plate in front, with two mature heavy built blond male persons with very short or no hair came from the middle of the road into the right lane where i wanted to go to and accelerated and it was a tenth of a second that made the difference to me when i decided to look one more time to the left before taking off from the alley). Immediately two other cars came after him, cars i haven't seen when i first looked before i decided to make a right from the gas station's alley, a red Toyota Prius and a gray Ford Focus. Then they slowed down so i could not get close to see the number of that Silverado, cause it had one in the rear. But i had enough time to see it was of turquoise color, like that of an Arizona plate, as i've seen so many around here (in the last two or three years i've seen an unusually largy number of out of state license plates).

So i tried to follow the Silverado but the distance to the truck grew bigger and bigger until right before the intersection between 101 and 26 i lost sight of it and did not see which way it went. My initial plan was to go south to Rockaway Beach so i did. When the road turned to 2 lanes in one direction, right after the intersection, i passed the Ford, and saw an old man with a ducks' fan cap with the big yellow O on his head at the wheel and i thought i saw him sneering nervously at me.

Then i accelerated but there was no sight of the Silverado.

Than at one of the first left turns i saw the other driver, that of the Prius, that stopped unexpectedly (he too was covered by another car that stopped in front of me). But i didn't see his face.

But on 101, before losing sight of the Silverado, i took one picture, unfortunately it was too far away and the truck partially covered by a pole. Maybe people with more technology could do a spectral analysis of the plate for the color.

Must Have Been An Angel

Focal lenght=27, wide angle. Wanted to catch more of the trail.
Focal lenght=27, wide angle. Wanted to catch more of the trail.
Darker in color, clearly shaped on the sky, much lower, surely a hawk.
Focal lenght=27, wide angle. Wanted to catch more of the trail.
Another hawk, most likely
Focal length=30, wide angle. Wanted to catch more trails.

Balloon, i saw it dancing in the wind. It appears below too, in the croped version in the left.
Focal lenght=30, wide angle. Wanted to catch more trails.
In the lower right, a darker patch.
Not hawk, not balloon, not plane. Could be a drone. Hiding in the jet trail.
Focal length=105, 2x zoom. Took pictures of all dissipating trails after discovering what is above with zoom at maximum. Some of them are badly shaken, out of focus. Could have been more.
Blue grey. Looks like a drone to me. Light from above - left as it should. With wings.

Resonance

It is very hard to understand from the article in Wikipedia. Let's put it simple. Let's say we have a guitar with 6 chords. Each chord has a different thickness. If it is normally tuned you can pinch one chord and make it vibrate and all of the others will stay pretty much put. You will hear only the chord that you pinched until the vibration get dampened by the friction with surrounding air.

But if you intentionally put on the same guitar or even on two different ones two chords of the same thickness and tune them to make the same sound, if you will pinch one chord pretty soon the other will start vibrate and make the same sound. It will absorb half of the energy of the first chord and they both will vibrate until will spend all the initial energy and die. We can say they resonate at a resonance frequency and that is the frequency you tuned them to.

In buildings. Especially in those made of panels. Each panel has its own resonance frequency and more than one harmonics. Most of them will be the same size but will not have the same frequency as are assembled differently depending on the contact with the frame. If you can find a way to transfer some vibration to the walls from a source at resonance, you can make them vibrate. In a building made of panels you will have practically all kind of resonances at a multitude of frequencies.

If you use a blower in the parking lot or a noisy car or a plane passes by, some of the panels will vibrate in resonance with the instant frequency of the blower that changes constantly sweeping a range of frequencies.

A multitude of scenarios can happen. Usually dust falls from the walls. Air gets pumped inside and outside the walls bringing very unpleasant odors, bacteria and fungus from the walls inside and nutrients from the normal dust inside back in the walls.

More complicated things can be imagined as some walls in the building will have different substances in it, like formaldehyde, smoke from neighbors, etc. Depending on the frequency, only some walls will vibrate and fill the apartment with a certain thing, on demand. Even the bottles under the sink with things like chlorine, 409, etc. Once i found them all with their cap loose.

Every internal organ of one's body must have a resonance, and it can be different from one person to another as organ sizes match the person's size.

Yesterday across the street somebody used a creosote sweeping log to clean the chimney. For about 4 hours the place was filled with creosote smoke and i felt terrible. Shortness of breath, knot in my throat, dizziness for several hours and ruining the rest of my day. I  think some of that smoke turned into dust and falls from the walls while vibrating.

The noise itself can be annoying in a residential area.

Last night around 11 i went to bed. I was tired and slightly buzzed as i had a glass of cheap red wine not long before. I was about to fall asleep when my wife came and opened the bedroom's window together with the balcony door.

I liked the fresh air coming from outside. I didn't like i was waking back up. Then several cars passed by. One of them made an unusual high pitch loud sound for about 30 seconds. Probably a defective transmission or a rattle. The room got filled with some very fine dust. Smelled like wood dust. I closed the window. Then i started feeling very ill. Arrhythmia when laying down. Probably systemic allergy.

I went back up and started pacing around. Every time i tried to go back to sleep i had shortness of breath and arrhythmia. I turned on the computer. Spent a couple of hours until i felt good enough to go back to sleep. Everything came back to "normal".

Right now across the street right now are blowing leaves with power blowers. If i open the windows there will be at least 50 dB flooding the apartment. But even with the doors closed my ears almost hurt although i don't hear much.

This to me is happening for at least a decade. Hours lost almost every day to it. Time ruined. Life ruined.

Today. For a few hours there will be leaves blowing in the neighborhood. Then at night creosote smoke. Slammed doors from the neighbors all day. A new week is starting.

My plan for today included applying for some jobs. Now i write in the blog.

Guess Who's Buzzing Today

At 4:57 PM today i came from a short walk. My neighbor at Nr.9 came down the stairs with a pair of barking dogs when i wanted to climb so i backed down. I went to the car and then to the mailbox. Exactly when i reached the car, a plane flew just above the building. I mean, not 1500 feet as the legal limit, not 500 feet, not even 300 feet but merely ... what? 150 feet maybe? It could have touched the building at Nr.45 across the alley. Almost no noise at all which means the pilot cut the engines down to idle. Really dangerous at that altitude in a residential area full of trees. It was also pretty foggy. I waited patiently two hours (actually more than two, as i forgot and then remember because of the OHSU helicopter flying more recently and really shaking the building, vibrating the walls' panels and pumping outside the dust from the walls and the mineral fiber in the attick, like every time where you have an enclosed volume within elastic walls, when those walls vibrate, the air inside is getting slowly pumped outside and the other way around.) so i can look at the history of flights on Web Track. I was curious to see what airline that was. Look for yourself and wonder. Beware that data on the site is slightly erroneous as it shows the plane flying some 900 feet SE of the building and 2700 above sea level which would be 2000 above the ground, well within legal limits. I mean i couldn't have seen it from outside near the west side of the building if it was flying as it says there, right? (It is not well shown here but the building i live in is oriented NS. That site http://webtrak.bksv.com/pdx worked right for me since i first started looking until a few month ago. Map is clickable.

49

June 25 2009. I went to http://www.flickr.com/photos/40225793@N07/. Gotta picture to prove. It was one day before my birthday. At the site near the entrance under a roof in the open air they were a bunch of military guys or firefighters celebrating something or having a meal and a meeting or something like that.

click me!

Next day afternoon i had my usual "anxiety attack". I knew by then that if i get out of that appartment and go anyware is going to be more bearable. (And after my wife was coming home). Now i know the cause. The same as here. All kind of smokes from burning in purpose all kind of materials in or around the building. And of course synchronized noise from different sources.

So i decided to go to my wife's work place at GE Security at 12345 SW Leveton dr. Tualatin, OR. But i didn't park in her parking lot but in the street next to it i can't remember why. Truck was facing North and i opened the truck's bed's door and sat on it enjoying the Sun and trying to calm down. At around 3:15 PM i started to hear a noise like a waterfall. At first it was smaller and then it grew constantly bigger then i thought an earthquake is going to hit then i thought the whole Niagara falls is coming in that parking lot. But none of this happened. When the noise was right before its peak i saw an elegant gray big bird like silhouette coming from above the building from the South. Then another two. Then another one. Here they were. 4 F22s flying in V formation really slow at about 100-200 ft. I thought i saw pilot's helmets in the cockpits. I was staring at the bay doors under their bellies waiting to see what was going to happen next. They went above and passed towards North. I turned and saw their tails gently balancing just above the horizon with the stabilizers moving discretely. The whole show lasted about 30 seconds. Then they disappeared over horizon with the same speed and altitude. I didn't hear any noise like increasing speed ever after. They must have flown at that altitude over the whole area in that direction, many miles of urban area. Thousands of people might have seen and hear them.

I thought i was really lucky for not peeing in my pants. I went inside the truck trying to think. Then a guy passed by. I asked him if i just saw 4 F22s flying above my head. He said smiling: Something like that, something like that...

My wife showed up. She confirmed the noise. Then i went to the liquor store. I bought some grain alcohol to mix with the blueberries we picked at a upick place, a few days earlier.

At home two guys showed in the parking lot. One was holding a device in his hands like measuring something in the air. By that time i had a filter in the bedroom's door that was pushing filtered air and building a little pressure inside so no other things can get in. Not that they didn't. My wife said i should go and talk to them but i though i had enough emotions for one day.

I was joking with my wife, "we're broke but i just saw 1 billion dollars flying above our heads!"

Bradycardia

Last Friday @6:00 PM a guy hit me from behind with a 04 Nissan Z car while i was waiting at a yield sign on Boones Ferry Rd and Kerr Pkwy in Lake Oswego. There is no much damage on both cars, it was steel bumper against steel bumper but it shook me pretty well especially because my head rest touches the rear window of my truck's cabin. I had headaches coming and going and intermittent back pain. I know if i didn't have my foot on the brake in that instant i would have been pushed into traffic. But i was lucky because i stopped once, i thought i can squeeze myself in traffic, i went forward, then i changed my mind, used the brakes, but still looked in the mirror because of the hesitation and saw a silver car behind me slowing down and he didn't have time to catch speed in what, a couple of meters? Then i fully stopped and looked again at the left when i felt the hit. It pressed my head against the head rest pretty strong. I had a weird sensation in the jaw. But i could move, stand and talk to the guy. He had a cell phone in his hand, he kept saying it was his fault then another guy showed and brought a pen form his nearby home so we can write down insurance information. Then i called my wife with the camera so i could take pictures but she kinda didn't want to come. Finally she came and here are the pictures. At around 7:30 i went to doctor's Express office in Boones Ferry Rd. For some reason even before the accident i was feeling really tired and now that i think there is no explanation for that. My body was totally relaxed and i think that it the reason i felt it so hard.

Last night i was feeling really weird again. No pain whatsoever. After i ate last time suddenly very sleepy. But instead of falling asleep i went in bed and used the pulse oximeter. When i was relaxing it went down all the way to 44. I think i caught it once with no pulse and got dizzy and jumped from the bed. Then i changed the batteries on the oximeter and started pacing around to raise my pulse. Then i finally realized what's happening. It is my old problem with nose congestion. I was barely breathing because my nose was congested almost completely and i was still trying to breath without realizing. Part of the reason was the filters from the stove. They weren't been cleaned in a while; But for some reason i don't understand i was totally numbed out. I used the decongestant and cleared my nose. Drank some water and this time went in the bedroom when the smell from the stove was not that bad. Fell asleep staring at the oximeter wiht no lower readings that 47. Woke up quite dizzy after about 6-7 hours. I checked again this morning and is into the 50s and i caught it a couple of times 47-48. Don't get me wrong. When i walk around it goes into the 70s and 80s. Then i used the camera to record it but is really hard because i cannot completely relax then focus the camera and film without raising the pulse a bit. I couldn't catch on camera less than 50. My pulse at rest is usually in the 50s since i can remember. Anybody can tell me why?

I remember a few years ago maybe in 2008 i once read 44 on that thing and went to the ER. They put me in a bed, and on a monitor and i used mine in a different finger and it was showing the same. They set an alarm at 50 and every time it was going there it sounded and my pulse would automatically raise. They sent me home and told me to drink some sports drinks. The copy of the EKG i got shows 50 even. I bought some Gatorade and went home. The next day i read in the news that the guy who invented Gatorade died.

This post is not finished. I will try and add things as i remember in the next days.

2008 Complaint

Just found this email in my old computer. Corrected for a few misspelled words. The facts described below happened a few days after i found 10 screws in my right tires. (On August 10 2008 it was exactly 13 years since i first came to Oregon, after a 3 day trip with Greyhound from New York, where i came with the flight Ro13 of Tarom, a DC10, like DC8 in Scintology etc..)

Wednesday, August 13 2008 around noon i went to the auto repair shop "All Automotive Repair" in 3390 SW Cedar Hills Blv, Beaverton, OR, 97005, owned my Mr. Sorin Suditu, with my wife's car, a 1993 Nissan Sentra license plate nr XFA 329.

The symptoms were a bad injector (second from the left), (misfire, no knocks) but from the start they told me it was a bad valve (Jerry) and they wanted to check the compression which they did. I insisted to use a meter to check the injector coils first, because it was much easier and they declined.
After that they ordered two injectors and while I was waiting, a gentlemen that had a motor home was using a garden hose in the lot. I measured the injector coil and it was bad.

I wanted to take the bad injector with me and they said it's not possible because it was core.

The injectors they installed didn't look new.

After the injectors arrived, from Automotive Products in Portland, they replaced the injectors and the car wouldn't start. They removed the spark plugs and turned the engine. Then a liquid, gasoline or oil came out of two cylinders up to several feet in height. I was sprayed with that liquid. I don't know exactly what it was because i spent the last hour or so smelling gasoline from a carbureted car they worked on. Then my car caught fire and for a while one of the mechanics (John) tried to blow in the fire with his mouth.  Then he used the extinguisher and the fire was extinguished. It all lasted about 15-30 seconds. Then they used some spray and then water and there was no visible damage. They also washed the car thoroughly with that hose and there was no visible fire damage.

All the work has been done in the parking lot in the shade near the doors, although there was room in one of the bays.

Then they turned the engine with the starter for about five minutes. Oil and gasoline came out of the exhaust. And the car finally started. I was feeling very sick, and since aIl had my blood pressure monitor, I used it and I had 164/110m pulse 108 and chest pain.

They wouldn't accept payment and I left with the car. It worked fine for two days.

Yesterday the car was misfiring. I found the spark plug wires of those two injectors loose. Last night the car was working fine. I checked it with a stethoscope and all the injectors were working fine. I went to the grocery store and there was no misfires, it climbed the hills really well. Today, one of the injectors they installed failed again (first from left). I measured the coil with an ohmmeter and it was interrupted.

All the problems I had with the car  in the last few years, they all started in the parking lot at the apartment complex. They never broke somewhere else.

Please advise.

Sincerely

George Ion

Google Cars

Finally rain. I never thought i'd say that. In Oregon. I actually drove on the freeway surounded by the familiar yet forgotten shrouds of flying water.

I don't know how others are. I couldn't help but peak at the other drivers steering wheels. I usually look for any sign that could show unsuspected maneuvers. As much as i can cause i cannot look behind too all the time...

But lately, maybe in the last few years many times i've been struck by a weird sensation as the other drivers don't realy steer their wheels but just gently wrap them with their hands waiting for the car to react...

I remember Mr.Google got approval to test driverless cars in other states. What if they're secretly doing it in Oregon too, with the cars they secretly bought from the government a few years ago, in large numbers, when before obamacare there was cashforclunckerscare? Maybe Oregon is more suitable for this, smaller and with fewer politicians to buy or blackmail?

And don't ask me who those drivers are, cause i've said it before...

Brake Job

My brakes were done 2 years ago at Les Schwab Tires Center in Tigard. Sunday i drove to Vancouver to talk to some guys i knew at a church over there. None of them were actually there. When i left here i found this 1/2x1/2 inch by 2 mm piece of magnet glued to one my shoes. When i pulled it it came out with the top layer of the leather from the right shoe in the rear on the outside. When i came back my brake pedal was making this farting sound. When i looked there was no brake fluid in the front reservoir. Monday i went to one of the Les Schwab stores in Aloha, Oregon. They did the brakes in warranty but did not machine (resurface) the rotors. The brakes aren't working well. They pull right. Today i was looking to take a picture to prove to them they did not machine the rotors and i found the left caliper was leaking again by the line, exactly in the same spot as before. Today at 2 PM i have appointment at the Lake Oswego Les Schwab store. By the way every time i go in the parking lot to take a picture of some part of my car a plane or two show up.

Maybe that's why they did this back in 2008. Can't distinguish tire size but i will try to enhance contrast on this one. Maybe i'm going to download Gimp after all.

Endless Hole With Smoke

For a week now i'm re-caulking a ~5-10 mm 1/2" thick 6-12" long space between the bathroom wall and floor next to the bedroom using GE Silicone II of about $6.50 a tube. One day a redo a portion the next day it hardens just fine and 2 days later becomes soft like the 1.25 dollar cheap one made of milled limestone and an adhesive. Two days ago i completely removed all the material and put a new one. Yesterday it was hard and completed today now is just disintegrating. But every time i touch the stuff that's already in the wall the rest of the day my hands become stingy and skin slightly paralyzed all over after taking a shower. I just went to Lowes and gave the tall blond guy who says he's one of the managers a tiny sample in a plastic bag and asked him to send it to the manufacturer. But he didn't even ask what brand i bought, he showed total lack of interest. Last time i bought two tubes i discovered at the check-stand that one of the tubes was cracked and took it back. Then another manager of the store, an older guy to whom i gave the cracked tube told me the expiration month on the tube was September 2012. (There was this Lowes bearded guy standing behind me so close i felt uncomfortable and couldn't talk more with the manager. I remember that the bearded guy one recent time i went there he was standing there band with his  but right in front next to the paint department. That made uncomfortable as well.) Then they opened a new box with the expiration date 04/13.

Before caulking i discovered the corner with the missing wallpaper was cracked to pieces, i had to pour gypsum and redo the corner, using some transparent plastic molds, but you cannot pour gypsum all over you have to keep the edges clear of touching anything because if it touches the floor or a beam it's gone crack later due to vibration.

I did the whole thing because of the unidentified smoke coming out of it, i remember the first day i did the gypsum my face was stingy because of the smoke. The cracked parts of drywall i took out of there were brown inside because of the years of smoke. The rest if it probably still is. The apartment below is vacant for more than one year, i don't know exactly where the smoke is coming from. After i re-caulk there is no smoke for one day or so then it becomes soft in different areas not all of it and tiny holes appear together with the smoke.

Oregon XLX

There was some kind of a smoke this morning in the apartment. (I later filled some more cracks near the bathroom floor next to the bedroom wall. It appears that vibrations make walls pump stuff from inside outside. It actually makes sense since the during vibrations the air from inside goes outside because of the rhythmic change of air volume between panels in empty interior walls.)

Last night i fell asleep late and this morning like never before i slept till noon. Then i woke up, read the news and fell the smoke choking me. It was cigarette smoke mixed from shit smell from the ground level neighbor's bathroom. I can recognized it as i smelled it once in the attic while his bathroom fan was working. Coming from the walls.

I left and drove towards the park. And then it started as usually. Some asshole in a black SUV possibly Chevy Suburban with license plate Oregon XLX was putting out diesel smoke or oil smoke from the pipe. I couldn't see the license plate and drove faster so i can read it then pulled in the park's parking lot and called DEQ's hot number to report the smoking vehicle. First i told the woman the location and then the license plate number. She went: "That's not a complete number" and i said "no ma'am that's the whole number" and she said "thank you", then she hung the phone. Then i realized, maybe she thought that it was a joke, given the number. Then i called DMV and asked if that was a valid number and the woman said yes, and i asked how can they issue such numbers and she said maybe it's a Roman numeral, anyways, everybody on the phone seemed up to something. (By the way let's see what XLX means as Roman numeral... 50, give or take ten).  Then i stepped into the Tryon park and all hell broke loose. A very low altitude very high RPM very high noise plane flew by (By the way the parking lot was empty, i was the only one there). And lots of other things happened for the 45 minutes i was in there, maybe i'm gone continue this tomorrow.

Selena Quintanilla

September 1995. Portland, Oregon. Selena and Sade and Alanis Morisette on all radio stations. What a nice music. To me Selena sounded like a cousin of Gloria Estefan. With pretty rich, professional instrumentals too... And then... What i didn't know was that earlier that year, the music died, again.

Today i was looking for her songs and i stumbled upon yet another memorable piece of music, a cut from a movie. Jennifer Lopez's movie debut. Or what make-up can do to a person.

Turn Signal Lever.

Wednesday i decided to go to Beaverton Police to make criminal complaints regarding the situation described in the two previous entries, Computer Age Auto Service and Easter 2008. That night i only slept about 4 hours and i was very tired. When i left from the parking lot i realized the turn signal lever was broken, it was still working but very big play and when signaling left the windshield wipers were turning on. I went yesterday to Steve, my mechanic at Lucky Autobody in Beaverton and he said only the parts are more than 300 dollars, money i don't think i have to spend.

Wedndesday at the Police Station in Beaverton, around 9 AM i picked the phone in the hallway and told the dispatcher what i was there for. They dispatched an officer name Rountree?. I also had in my pocket a sample of the padding from under the carpet that is smelling very strong like chemicals to show to them.

In the Police hallway there was this long line with people that were paying fines and a tall African American officer with badge number 614 that later said he was officer Chris Warren who also looked like a known celebrity. After waiting for more than 20 minutes, no policeman showed up sent by the dispatcher and officer Warren took me to a room downstairs near the hallway and took my complains. Basically i was complaining that two different celebrities, before and after 2000 as described in the linked above were impersonating other people pretending they were living in this area and having business like auto shops or fence building around here. In the end he threatened me with putting me in a mental facility and called the Victim Assistance Person who turned out to be yet another celebrity look alike, a blonde female, not very tall, with a round face and blue eyes, just under 30 years old. But they changed their minds after i told them the story with dr.Sigurtsson.

My place, post date

Last year (2011) @ July 4th i wanted to change the padding from under the carpet. I removed the carpet and the padding. I tried to use some pet enzyme to remove the smell from the padding and almost died from the smell. Then i went to a store on 72 near 217 in Tigard and bought a big roll of a new padding. The new one was pink in color. After removing it from the transparent plastic cover, it was smelling worse than the one i had. I took it back to the store but it wasn't until several month later after i made a call in Tillamook? when they returned my money, @70 dollars. Couldn't find a less smelly one even at the Tigard Lowes or Home Depot.

Smart Meters

Reedited 09/07/2015

How are the damn smart meters affecting your privacy. Nobody i heard so far got it right.

Don't get me wrong. They save a lot of human work and (real) inconvenience for everybody by not needing to manually read them. But they shouldn't be wireless. Why?

Anybody within a few miles with a receiver and encryption cracking device could get your meter's data stream. What that means? Every few seconds or on interrogation the meters send the very instant power consumption. With a little bit of software the privacy intruder can figure out what you are doing in your house with seconds delay. Each appliance and device has it's own unique power consumption. When you turn on your TV, your computer, how much you use the fridge (by how many times you open the door, the more you open it the more it has to work), water heater, when you turn your bedroom's or bathroom's light on, when you when you take a shower (the heater will start working about a minute after cold water flows in to replaced the used hot water) and when not and so on.

The Hole in the Wall

OK here's the deal. Behind one of bedroom's storage board when i moved there was a hole about as big as i could stuck my hand in it. About 5 feet from the floor level. I fixed it pouring gypsum 3 or 4 times so far.  First time when i painted again the bedroom i think. Last week i introduced the camera through it and took a picture around the corner to see how i put the foam (by touch only with a tiny 1/4 inch one foot long transparent flexible vinyl tube hooked to a foam can (Great Stuff brand). I couldn't have bend the exhaust with it, it's a bit stronger). Exactly where the two pieces of flexible exhaust coming from the ground level apartment are held together by a piece of duct tape that is too small, with too few turns and it probably leaks. It was also strangulated by the tape after it was bent. At the time i thought the smell was coming from the 1 inch space between the panels that i filled with foam. Today i took a better look at the pictures and saw the tape. Normally one would tape the joint for more than two width of tape.

(At times ever since i moved here the bedroom was filled with smoke. I remembered when i was falling asleep in the living room at the TV in the morning when i went in there were my wife was sleeping you could barely breath in there.)

I fixed the hole again a week ago. Monday there where these two guys with a big diesel powered truck that got lost around here and where asking probably directions on the phone for about 15 minutes. The sound was so annoying it prompted me to grab the camera and film them, twice. Actually they took off when i started filming them the second time.  I think it might have cracked again when they did that. Or afterwards from other vibrations from other cars and planes that pass and fly too frequently around here. I think i saw them one more time during the week after that. Lost again or maybe this time delivering. Only this time the crack was on the side with the plywood, near the exhaust housing. And was still wet.

But it is not possible for the gypsum to be wet after a week. Even if it is near a board that could have gotten wet (the housing board) The board from the storage does not touch it, it's about 5 mm apart. Enough for air to circulate and let it dry in a week. Last few days i've been very sick and there was smoke in the bedroom. I was waking up in the morning very tired and with my nose congested after few hours of sleep. I slept alone in the bedroom. I felt like i was drunk. Friday @noon i was almost fainting after hyperventilating for hours and then i took a look and felt the smell and opened the windows. Exactly when another neighbor (with the Jeep) parked under the window and opened two doors looking for something in the car for a minute or two.

It took me hours after if fixed it while hyperventilating until i got better.

When i fixed it again yesterday it was smelling like some weird animal urine. By the way, i didn't put the storage board back and it's completely dried after i repainted today. 24 hours but with a fan.

Here below is barely visible in this before picture taken from the attic (i wouldn't see if i didn't know it's there) the taped joint and i think you can see how it is strangulated. On the left you can see one of the thin pieces of plywood i used keeping it in place by pulling two nails while pouring gypsum then extracting them and letting it fall. Last time when i fixed i saw the pouring was very well formed, almost like continuing the drywall without noticing, except it cracked again exactly in the corner.

By the way even right now as i am editing this there is a little bit of smoke inside, my nose is congested and i feel like it' very hard to concentrate.

9-5 05 PM. OK, there's one more exhaust... The one coming from the apartment below that is vacant for a year and i don't know why... Some might... It goes under the bathtub then into the housing that is part of the apartment next to mine... Nothing to do there... Except open the kitchen window when the wind blows from West or the bedroom when the wind blows from the East so i equalize the pressure so the un/idendified smells from the wall don't come inside... Like it happened today when i forgot... Got to fill this one with foam as well...Cause the smell goes under the kitchen hardwood-floor and into the bathroom... I discovered this one because of a leak coming from the tub somewhere...

They always have to do it in pairs... For back-up...

But for that i'd have to go to Home Depot or Lowe's to buy more foam... And raise more eyebrows... Just finished removing the foam and the hairs from my hands...
